Sometimes these things pop up and have clearly been loved to get so far. However, in this case, I think it’s had shit welding on top of shit welding; whatever it’s needed it’s reluctantly had. Cheaply. If I had an account I’d probably bid. trigger

Need to remember to take a photo for this thread when it does tick over. Just remembered I need to update this thread... 2100032 miles Mrs SiC was driving along the motorway a few days before Xmas. Glow plug light started flashing - on VAG this is an engine fault. But weirdly no bonging or warnings on the display. She phoned me to ask what to do. As it was driving fine, I told her to carry on. 2 minutes later, I got another call to say she lost power on the slip road and it died without being able to restart. When it got home, I read the codes to find "Low fuel rail pressure". Not good. Checking under the fuel pump metering valve... Was this horror of metal flakes. These are mushed so finely that they will have circulated through the rail, into all the injectors and back into the tank. Clogging not only the rail, injectors but also sticking inside the fuel pumps as they contain magnets for the motor. Hence its around £3k in new parts or around £1k-1.5k in second hand parts to fix that. Apparently a common problem on 2008-2014 era Bosch CP4 pumps and affects many brands. So time for me to hand in my membership card, as I'm out! Shame as everything else was working absolutely perfectly. Seems criminal but a car is no use with a engine that doesn't run. Over 11 years of ownership between my parents and myself. That's the last I saw of it. Coprolalia, puddlethumper, Popsicle and 3 others
Blake's Den
I learnt to drive in a V reg Micra K11. It was averaging over 1000 miles a week. And not 1000 motorway miles but 1000 miles of learner driver clutch riding, gear crunching, over revving and emergency stopping. It still drove suprisingly well on 80k when I passed my test. I'm guessing that the Pug 208 further up this thread was used for something similar.
Mike D
Trusty camper is still plodding on, mileage has slowed a bit recently as i've been using the golf for work. Popsicle
As the Caddy has gone all twatish VAG on me I've been running around in the Vectra Estate most of this week, so first entry for it hitting a milestone today. We picked this up for £1k, 2.5 years ago with 84k on it. Its hardly put a foot wrong in all that time/miles. Might fuck the caddy off and go back to this old beast, see if I can pass the 369k I put on the Zafira.
