Pete-M
I've only known XUD to HGF at around 180-200k miles.
PiperCub
I was trolling a bit but I've never had cooling issues with XUDs. Likewise, never had issues with XUD's even when the rad on my 2.1TD 406 was really shagged, only 2/3 working (about a 1/3 didn't get even warm) & plugged up with super steel filler - still refused to overheat or do anything silly. 407? Would only if it was running OK & V.V cheap so I could run it as a total loss car.
The Reverend Bluejeans
I've only known XUD to HGF at around 180-200k miles. I'll fetch the easy-to-complete warranty claim forms.
cort16
The boot release button being in the 0 of the 407 is justification enough for buying one. I'd try one at the right money. I'd maybe skip my general rul of buying the cheapest one available and spend a little time trying to find a nice one with fsh. robinmasters, Dirk Diggler and SiC
rainagain
I thought this was quite nice: https://www.gumtree.com/p/citroen/citroen-c5-2.0-hdi-diesel-1-years-mot-towbar-/1213078682 KruJoe

406V6
Cruise available on GTX and Exec, auto available although it is the relatively fragile AL4 French gearbox. Some upper range models of the 406 have the ZF 4HP20 autobox. Certainly the V6, I'd love 30mpg but I also love the sound of a V6.The Peuegot V6 will readily give at least 30 mpg on a run. Keep a look out for the relatively rare 407 V6 petrol although the tax will hurt
