How come Andrew? Might be interested in more but frankly, we've just put the next one to bed and the weekend is starting to kick in. Drop me a line at [email protected] if you like and I'll have a look into it next week.

EDIT - email now actually correct!

I'm not sure I believe those figures to be honest, sounds like an awful lot of vehicles for just one week for just one manufacturer. You'd have thought that most of those would have been owned by people who would be too attached to the car to condemn it to the metal yard!

I think that perhaps we've been crediting the population with far more intelligence than they actually possess...

Well this hardly seems like a new thing, This article from Motor magazine is dated 8th March 1975, but could well of been written last year.

NEW SCRAPPAGE SCHEME: I might be willing to enter into a deal with you to purchase a new car on your behalf and use this one as the scrappage offset-- this car ticks all the necessary boxes, ie current MOT, reg'd for 4 years in my name, etc etc- you would save £2000, and I would offer to take say for example £800 for my efforts, thus making a saving you £1200 - so we all benefit. Let me know please - I would be happy to discuss.

I am fuggin sure you would be willing for £800 in your greesy pocket

Here we fucking go, no cheap cars for the next month while all the dickheads put all their all bollocks up for stupid amounts as scrappage cars. What this person doesn`t realise sadly, are two important factors:1) There are going to be a lot more than 300,000 idiots trying this2) He`s only going to get you £1200 off, you can get £1000 off without having to make his acquaintance, surely its worth £200 just to not fuck about and have to get involved with this sort of chancer.

I reckon the necessary change of keeper on the new car would more than wipe out any saving anyway.
