Split_Pin
An actual Simca 1100 in daily use. Last time I saw that was in Menorca in 1993. It beeped its horn at me because I was in the road getting a ball. overrun, pshome, Braddon81 and 1 other

Junkman
Plenty of Renault's as well R20, R21, R25, R4 , R19 etc, The etc being R16s? Is it only me, or does the place look a lot tidier than - let's say - France?Although it has this typical arid aura about it. An Austrian wouldn't like it there. pshome
pshome
no R16 seen, have a Benz and a Polo instead: yes, generally places are very tidy and clean, and not only in the center of towns, the suburbs are proper as well. Is there any place on earth Austrians like outside Stockport? mercrocker, chaseracer, Junkman and 2 others
Squire_Dawson
This speaks volumes about how tough these old cars are. And to me it shows just how big an effect different climates have on bodywork, like in this country (I suspect largely due to the pointless practice of salt-spreading roads) cars are lucky to reach 15-20 years old. pshome
One shot with a 504 and 305 estate plus what appears to be a Fiat Regatta estate as well, shite overload in one shotLet me add a 309 to make it perfect. That eveneing was the most perfect dinner show ever: sit in the café watch the shite passing by and just hit the shitter shutter release every so often. Wonderful music as well, Indenor Diesel at its best, sometimes even in Stereo! I counted four Peugeot 504 estates, three "Berline" two pickup's and that 305, that was Peugeot only. A few Fiats (126, Regatta?) and Renaults as well. Shep Shepherd and Junkman

Dont be mistaken, these cars are proper shite, bodge repaired to an inch within their life. Remember our cars have to pass an MOT, their cars just have to be better then a horse and cart. pshome
they have annual mot, managed by German Dekra and swiss SGS. That certainly assures a minimum technical standard.http://www.bladi.net/controle-technique-maroc,18144.html Junkman

Shep Shepherd
On a sort-of related note, I saw a Peugeot 404 done up like a traditional German taxi at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin on November 9th: Apart from the Trabis and numerous old Mercs and Audis, It was the most memorable car I saw in the five days that I was there. mercrocker
Love seeing W123s and old Pugs in such natural surroundings. It was TV footage of Beirut being shelled to shit that made me want a W123 - they seemed to lumber out of the rubble with about eight people in them, a big white flag hanging out the back window and still wearing three of its hubcaps. The missing wheel trim is probably still on that 504 saloon in the opening post here.....
Elstro1988
I remember seeing lots of Peugeots in the background of the Abfab episode 'Morocco'. Amazing to see 22 years later it is still the case. I'm sure it's the climate that keeps these cars going.
