cros
I think these are a fine vehicle and I regret not having ever owned one. I remember the first one I ever saw was a Van Rouge version - were they first introduced in that guise?
bub2006
van rouge was just a red one i think! beko1987
Felly Magic
I remember seeing a pair brand new circa 1986 belonging to local plumbers Machin's, they had a white Van Blanc and a red Van Rouge, both had single piece back doors and were diesels
Six-cylinder
Ive noticed one headlight bulb fits fine and its a big round bulb but the other is a h4 just perched in. Headlights look corroded inside anyway so possible new ones if i can find them Our 2000 van has H4s (472) and I am surprised your 2001 dose not have halogen headlights. You can buy halogen bulbs to fit the round base and replace the old round bulbs (410). bub2006
bub2006
One side has the 410 bulb which sits snug. The other though iinan h4 sort of just pushed in to the tabs the clipped down
ianjobber87
So glad this is getting some love! It was lined out like six cylinders one when I got it but it was all damp and mouldy. Shouldn't be too hard to recreate though. bub2006
They_all_do_that_sir
There is something very right about a basic small white french van on steel wheels.  oh and MORE PICS egg and bub2006
forddeliveryboy
 Amazing to think these first arrived over 30 years ago. I had a petrol '85 back in the late 90s but complete with front chassis member rot. Drove very sweetly for a van. Interesting to see some old-style Citroën advertising going on for new vehicles, well into the PSA era.   egg, Six-cylinder, bub2006 and 1 other

bub2006
Ply lining will take time as im not too good with carpentry but its a good platform to learn. Same as the arse rot. Be an idea to learn to weld myself but that does scare me a bit!

Dirty Rooster
I had a red one! Bought it from the scrapyard to go down south and pick up a couple of Russians from the airport.Kept it running for two years, great van. Tough. Cheap. Easy to fix.Sixty quid it was. bub2006
Its proving quite a popular little van. I may have to invest in some paint at some point. How can i get the bumpers, grill and bonnet front back to grey? Its really patchy in places.

omegod
Or run a hot air gun over them , don't stay on one spot for too long for obvious reasons. Boiled linseed on a rag can self combust so I was told by someone who may not have been telling the truth Asimo

Tamworthbay
This will sound mad but it works - smooth peanut butter is superb for bringing grey trim back to black. I presume it's the oils in it. When I was told it first I thought mate was yanking my chain but it genuinely works a treat. bub2006

bub2006
Mr cylinder dave numbers or any ither owner of these vans, are the brakes shockingly bad in all of them?!
trigger
Yeah they were all shit, the RHD vans still had the LHD setup, they just fitted a link bar which lost the force from the servo. We got over this by fitting EBC Green Stuff pads to the vans. bub2006
Six-cylinder
Mr cylinder dave numbers or any ither owner of these vans, are the brakes shockingly bad in all of them?! Yes, you really have to hit them hard. They seem to work better after I have done a few miles or am I just getting used to them. bub2006
matty879
Mr cylinder dave numbers or any ither owner of these vans, are the brakes shockingly bad in all of them?!they come with factory fitted terrible brakes,so theres not an issue there, last one i drove was a 2002 so very late model? brakes felt like there was no servo fitted, but reliable, the ride was like jelly,or a renault 5 which made it even more comfy bub2006
bub2006
Thanks trigger, six and matty. Mine seem to work ok and do stop me but there is a very fine line between hard braking and locking up. No crash testing of this one hopefully chompy. More me?? As in more pikey to match my image? Well i am more pikey than giffer! Yes a bulkhead would be nice as would a crabnet on the roof for the one we lost (RIP). Still trying to source a roof rack too. bub2006
Im unsure, mine has 4 plates screwed to the roof with a bolt in the centre of each which i assume is used to secure the rails or rack. Unsure how they fit to be honest.
bub2006
While browsing online ive found a c15 ply lining kit pre cut with all fittings brand new for 150 delivered. Maybe cheaper though to buy the material
