Great story, the longer we leave stuff like this the harder it is to do it!

I took my Cowley back to its supplying dealer 60 years to the day it was put on the road.  Needless to say there was nobody still working there then!

Aye, it's sad that so many brands have died over the years. Rover, Saab, Vauxhall....

Love a story like this  :D

Even better that the saleman worked then during the time it was sold at the dealer!

I hope to take my LS400 back to Lexus Glasgow on it's 20th Birthday. (Need to find out if it's the original site/dealer)

I can 100% guarantee it wont be. I dont know who the dealer was in 1996 or even how old your car is but can tell you that Arnold Clark had the "Lexus Glasgow" franchise from 1999 at 163 St Georges Road, Charing Cross (site still there, was originally a bus depot I think, then an Arnold Clark Vauxhall-Opel dealership from 1984-1999 then became Lexus Glasgow) they lost the franchise in 2010 and it became a Lexus service agent/Arnold Clark Prestige and Performance used car sales place then Arnold Clark Vauxhall again briefly, as the HQ for Arnold Clark Finance was in the upstairs part of the building it was open until fairly recently (2015) but that moved to Hillington with Arnold Clarks other retail dept HQ so is just lying empty.

Eastern Western took the Glasgow Lexus franchise over in 2010 at 20 Kennedy Street, Townhead (former Murray Volvo site) however they relocated to 100 West Street a couple of years back to what was their Alfa Romeo and Saab dealership when they stopped selling new Alfa and a couple of years after Saab went bust so the whole site was rebranded to Lexus. Hope that helps.

Great story.

My old man had a P100 (Cortina shape) which he bought from the original owner, he'd kept all the original bill of sale including the business card from Cuff Millers with the salesman's mugshot on it. Fast forward a few years and I'm working on a local farm and take our Escort van (Bub shape) into Millers for a service. Who should greet me but the same bloke, a lot greyer since his 1983 photo but recognisably the same fella. I related my story and he was very polite but I'm sure in hindsight he (rightly) thought me a right dweeb.
