mercrocker
Had a jolly weekend at a local-ish Country Fayre/Steam Rally/Old Shite gathering..... Much of it was agricultural in nature, including the site itself which had only recently been gleaned down to prickly stubble. Made our way to the exhibitor's camping where a large proportion of us had obviously chosen the shite route to temporary accomodation...... There were LOTS of these Talbot/Citroen/Fiat things as they can be fixed with hammer and baling wire. This was our approach to luxury field accommodation - Unbelievably, given the scarcity of 1954/5 Morris Cowleys, this turned up totally unexpectedly and pitched next to us. Never met the bloke before but a sound geezer and good company for the weekend. Nice last-of-the-line Sprite Alpine, too.... Farmer Shite Gift Set No. 1 (Britain's 1:1 All Metal "Shite Shire" Range) This Atkinson looked distinctly un-Atki like underneath but sounded Gardner-ish Some Shite in Miniature was purchased. Total spend £12.50. Very happy, although the Marx Zephyr is missing a wheel. Made the caravan look like home, though.... I was too busy chin-wagging to see this come up the hill for a proper picture. Nothing under steam here, its all Scammell-motivated. Gift Set No. 2 (for big boys only). Perky V8 in a Fordson. This woke us up both mornings about 7 am. Not complaining, mind! Maxi Goodness, he had it in bed mode later but I had put the camera back in the caravan and CBA to fetch it.... Do Not Pai......Oh, you have. Well, don't re-chrome anything then.... Spartan alternative to a boring sports car..... Weather was a little Sunny (although it came on a beavertail) This, however, walked here by itself (and pulling a modern caravan) Moar to follow (I hate playing upload roulette....) mercrocker
Whoops, no caption for the ERF in the last pic, never mind, it doesn't need one. This was rather nice and un-adorned.... Some SAAB good-ness More Agri-Shite, like most things this weekend they came in pairs... Lefty Rangey (looked like it had factory air, too.) Nicely used and full of cronk. 1959 Mini. Cried a bit when I saw it on account of destroying mine in mis-spent youthdom. This was truly Nice. Looks like this bloke's in the right game for classic L-R ownership Do Not Paint. Or Checker Plate. Why do these make me Want? I have absolutely no need or use for one. This made me misty-eyed, too. Well remember it knocking around town. Early reg. madness going on as well. Mythical six-legged beast. Fighting DAF I'd love a 1950s Austin pick up like this.... But I have no room for any more vehicles. Wait, maybe I have... Wouldn't kick this out of bed either.... Another mid-spec Granny. £1250. Nearside sill wasn't too perky, though.... Two-headed monster. There were two of these here as well! Another farm toy. Mummy, it's broken..... This made me Want, too. Also it reminded me of a slightly dodgy school groundsman who seemed to take extraordinarily long fag breaks. With extraordinarily long fags..... This is just lovely. Been in same family for 80 years. That qualifies for some kind of award, I couldn't bear 80 years with mine. How caravanning should be done. The saloon rocks a York diesel, too.... Once again, Do Not Paint.... How bloody lovely is this..... I love F88s....This absolutely WALKED the tractor pull, got zillions on the clock too apparently. Final shot from the weekend. Cowleys, tractors, patina? JeeExEll, forddeliveryboy, Jon and 2 others
AMC Rebel
That Austin 7 Mini is pretty much identical to the one my Ma had when we were kids, except not as rotten. Same colour though.
