purplebargeken
Thought I'd put these on here especially for the few Triumph lickers that lurk on the forum Spent most of the day yesterday at my mates place in Coventry. He has two 1300FWD's on the road and one awaiting some fettling in the wings. The Valencia Blue car in the garage is a lovely car to behold but the seats were looking a little under the weather so to speak and were in need of some cleaning Good old Cif! The seats came up very well indeed. The piccies might make them look a little washed out but they are tan (new tan was a lot more orange). I only did the seats 7 years ago at a Resto Show at Stoneleigh. Hope I'm around to do them again in another 7 years lol. The green 1300 used to belong to a chap from the TDC, it was hand painted but a very tidy job was done. I last saw it a few years ago at the Bromley Pageant but it had laid unused for a while due to a mechanical issue. It wasn't a major issue but it was enough. The car was acquired by a mutual friend and a new project was born. The green car has a list of mods already done and is due to have a few more bits done The aim will be for a budget race/track/hill climb car. It has been upgraded to TC spec engine-wise, using genuine parts. It has been stripped out and a roll cage fitted. Alloys have been fitted and geometry adjusted using Dolomite ball joints. Bucket seats will be fitted along with a proper SAH style dash containing various dials. A battery kill switch, push button start, a race fuel tank and electric pump are planned. As are a lightened crank, TC head, Spitfire race cam and perhaps some DCOE twin Webers. Period alloys are also planned. A side exit exhaust may also be on the cards but the rear exiting centre mounted exhaust looks ace to my eyes Here you go: The cleaned seats The seats were cleaned with Cif, a toothbrush was used in the patterned bits and a light spray of Meggies interior protectant was used to give the seats a light sheen. anonymous user
I used to have a Valencia Blue 1300 FWD many years ago, I'd forgotten quite how stylish they were inside, particularly the foldaway window winders and little instrument binnacle. Mine had a black interior though and a, rather swish for the time, electric aerial mounted on the rear wing. Uncle Jimmy
purplebargeken
The window winders were just brilliant I was never sold on the instrument binnacle or the twin ashtrays as they always looked like an afterthought. The rest was lovely though. I had a few of these but the nicest colour combo was Dolphin grey and Matador red interior. It looked really plush
Asimo
Those window winders! I had forgotten about them, lovely to use! I bet period alloys will be difficult, the steel wheels on these FWD cars look as if they have a massive offset.
chaseracer
That green TC is a thing of wonder! What are the alloys off, and when are they going back on so you can throw some white steelies at it...?
purplebargeken
Yes, period alloys are hard to find but they are out there. I'll check re: current alloys.

Matt
Green one is ace, totally up my street. I think I recognise the alloys, I get the feeling they are 90's? purplebargeken
MarvinsMom
Yes, period alloys are hard to find but they are out there. I'll check re: current alloys.those wheels are, i believe off of a Rover Metro, the small triumphs and rover with some honda heritage such as the R8-bubble-MGF all share the same wheel stud pattern. eddyramrod and purplebargeken

Tamworthbay
Strangely I think the clocks look more up to date than the dolomite ones, but then that's true of a lot of comparisons between the fwd and dolomite range! purplebargeken

purplebargeken
That would have been good on petrol then. Trust me, the car sounds as good as it looks. Tamworthbay
