montytom
Well that turned into a bit of a washout. We left Plymouth about 3:45pm on friday and drove to the hotel. It started to rain so started to get a little disillusioned. We then went to the gates to get some pictures. We then headed back to the hotel and went to sleep. The next morning my dad said to me "Its snowing outside"I said course it is and laughed. Then I looked out the window. Bugger. We then heard nothing and started looking through the internet and found that it had been cancelled. We then went out to the vitesse and got a picture with snow We decided to see if we could make something of the day and headed anyway to Cofton park.We pulled up and eventually lots of other people did to. I never got any pictures of the day as my phone had run out of juice but I had these taken of my car. Whos that fat bugger in the orange top Then this photo was sent to me After the initial dissapointment it turned into a nice day. The vitesse performed faultlessly and is almost at 36000 miles now. oldcars
Shame about the day, hard luck for folk that have travelled a bit. Could it not be held in MG Rover, that would be cool. montytom

RoadworkUK
Yummy. Same colour as mine. Don't think I could go down to four cylinders though! montytom

Ahh trust me these turbo engined vitesses are absolute peaches.I love my 75s as they are 2.5 v6 but the turbo engine builds speed so much quicker
New POD
You should have said. I used to live near there (about 1/2 mile from the other side of the park). You could have popped in on my old neighbour and talked about his time in the engine development department. Mind you he'll be dead by now (probably) montytom
BorniteIdentity
Can't believe how badly communicated the whole thing ended up being. Perhaps it's just because of the job I do, but it sounded like even a leg up in a brothel would have proved challenging to the organisers. Anyway, lovely car. Louise2cv
They didn't cancel because of that icing sugar dusting, surely?!
oldcars
They didn't cancel because of that icing sugar dusting, surely?!Think it was because the park they used would have ended up all churned up and they would have needed to have it fixed up once everyone had gone. dollywobbler
They didn't cancel because of that icing sugar dusting, surely?! The park was already pretty waterlogged. It wasn't the snow itself that was the issue, but seriously soft ground. Can't believe how badly communicated the whole thing ended up being. Perhaps it's just because of the job I do, but it sounded like even a leg up in a brothel would have proved challenging to the organisers. Anyway, lovely car. I've seen quite a few people complaining about the organisers. I'm not sure what they could have done better. To lose your venue on the day of the event is pretty catastrophic. When folk started heading to Marks and Spencers' car park, the store said it couldn't be an official event, so the event organisers couldn't promote it as an alternative. They could have just told everyone to go home again, though how they would have communicated this to people who had already set off, I don't know.
