mercrocker
Could anybody point my garage in the right direction regarding Pug 404 parts? Specifically the Kugelfischer injected model (its a drophead). They have been asked to recommission one and have excellent pedigree in the off-beat (there's an Opel GT lurking in there too) but may be needing some spares. Just need a contact if anybody can assist..... Ta!
Angrydicky
You need to speak to Barrett, he's had to do exactly the same thing with his 404 drophead. mercrocker
HMC
Have you tried der francose .de ? Apologies for spelling but worth googling and looking at their site. Edit- franzose.de mercrocker
Six-cylinder
I have a 504 Cab and had it looked at by a Auto electrician familiar with early Porsches, that also use Kugelfischer. Unfortunately he now specialises in Porsche engine work and does not want to play with my Kugelfischer. The BMW 2002Tii also use Kugelfischer and the specialist Jaymic have a reputation for being able to fix them, although I have never used them. mercrocker

Six-cylinder
My 504 cab was worked on by John Fox in Settle before I owned it and he has a lot of older Peugeot knowledge. Edit - I think this is the garage. barrett
Dean Hunter got rid of most of his 404 parts a while back, although he still has a few odds and sods (nothing Kugelfischer related though). Jaymic have a guy who can rebuild the units and they are reasonably priced, but they have enough on their plates with BMW stuff and I don't think they were particularly enamoured with my 404 when they had it for a while. They are also the flakiest people I've ever dealt with. If you do speak to them, they've still got my copy of a super rare English language 404 injection workshop manual - ask for it back, will ya? (I gave up trying). You do need some special gauges amd things to correctly set up a Kugelfischer and even good people with experience of 'weird' stuff will struggle to get them running right. I dicked about with various people in the UK before giving up and sending mine to France, where a chap is currently doing a full engine rebuild and loads of other stuff (including sorting the injection) for a very good price. My honest advice would be to send it to him to avoid loads of heartache, but that's probably not what your garage want to hear. Let's see some bloody pics of the thing, there are only a tiny handful in this country and I wonder if it's one I know about
mercrocker
Thanks for that, Barrett. Pics can be arranged when it is accessible again. All I can tell you at present is it is on old style French plates, is black and looks to be in very good shape. The garage I use for my T25 has it in for a general "put back on the road" recommissioning. Don't know of any specific problem (if any) yet with the KF but there is bound to be something I suppose. Seems a bit odd to have brought it over here for this all to be done but I think there is a bereavement involved. Will update the thread in due course!
