Alan_Green
Right. What can be done with this? Nothing in it for me but belongs to an old bloke I've been dealing with. He bought it 7 years ago and the engine blew up immediately. He had a recon engine fitted (and new clutch) at a cost of about £2,000 then did nothing further with it due to personal circs. It's been in a storage yard in East London ever since. Offers/suggestions please. I've asked around in Southern Africa and they don't know about Iveco Fords, so no interest. I'm out of date with what goes on in West Africa (re: RHD/over 10 yrs old) and don't have any contacts now. Do these engines go in boats/barges?Last MOT 7 yrs ago.174,000 kmTyres said to be OK.That's all I know, ta. uk_senator
Old truck, (now gentrified) East London.. Seems like some "Amazing Spaces" type marketing would be in order...Failing that, I`m sure there some Essex boys who`d love to have it to convert into a classic Ford transporter. cms206
Ford Cargos are the best 7.5 tonners of all time ever; I'd assume by that age it'd be a 6-pot Cummins 130bhp mill. I sadly have no money and the wrong license or else I'd be all over that Craig the Princess
dean36014
That brought some memories back! Looks like the box was originally off a sleeper cab truck due to the front overhang of the cab. Must also have been one of the last shape Cargo's as I distinctly remember getting the keys to K417BND that was a brand new Euro Cargo. alf892
Cavcraft
Proper Cargo that, none of that Iveco shit despite any badge or what the V5 says. I'd love it to turn into a recovery truck, but it's out of the question due to distance, money etc. eddyramrod and mercrocker

Bucketeer
That looks like Pickfords blue. The load area and body in general seem very tidy, much better in fact than most of the stuff I used to work in for Pickfords. I reckon if it ran okay it could still do a job for a small removals outfit. It's usefully big for a 7.5 too, looks like maybe 1400 cu ft.
sierraman
15-20mpg on a run at a guess. Less round town. Your problem with something like this is storage, parking etc...
Cavcraft
It must have been a furniture wagon at some point, or the body at least was. I had these down as a Cummins engine for some reason, but Google says Ford 130 (presumably BHP) engine.Without a test on it it's tricky, but I'd reckon it'd see a clear £750 no danger, possibly £1,350-ish. Just found this, might be worth a try? http://cargofanclub.proboards.com/thread/419/ford-cargo-sale Alan_Green
uk_senator
Its worth pointing out, the 0813 will happily do a ton + plus when lightly laden.. I used to love driving them.Shame it hasnt got the XR3 type "Strobe" seat trim, but you cant have it all. andrew e

Cavcraft
I occasionally ran a 4 pot when another lad was off, but it was gutless. Sounded ace and was very reliable, just a bit wheezy. The 6 cylinder ones (would imagine that's what this is) went ok and should hit the end of the tacho no bother. Oddly enough I'm trying to buy one locally, but's an 11 tonner. eddyramrod
I used to drive a 6-pot Cargo some years ago, and a comparable Road Runner. Both had been sorely abused before I arrived, the RR more so, but both were still very capable trucks. The Cargo would go faster than I would... wuvvum
I've only briefly driven a Cargo, but it was a pleasant thing to drive, and felt much better put together than the later Eurocargos. Top speed with any 7.5-tonner will depend on gearing - my Roadrunner had a 150bhp Cummins turbo lump and went like the clappers, but ran out of revs at 63 mph. Cavcraft
The 6 banger Iv*c*s would definitely do 80, no problem. Couldn't keep up with the Cummins engine RRs though, they ran rings round us in every department. Some of the MANS I could have off, but then some may have been 4 cylinders which were mostly awful. Though, as said a million times before, the 4 cylinder Euro Cargo is actually the shittest thing to have ever (dis)graced the roads. eddyramrod

Captain Mainwaring
Always nice to see these, even in horsebox or recovery form as most of the survivors seem to be.If I had the money I'd sling the body, tidy the cab up and convert it to a tipper or flatbed, then show it.Scarcity value, innit.
