Moogs Motahs - sinking the seat

Today I collected my 9th car of the year.

This is destined to be our second knockhill honey.

Baby driver was an absolute gent, braved the dragons and collected me from Accrington.

Pez station shot (after BD dropping off the petrol cap key)

It has been resting in babydrivers garden for a little while so has the usual outer coating of various mosses.

Issues are its needs an engine mount (the gear lever bangs about like Ben Dover) and probably a couple of front tyres.

Abs kicks in at low speed then the light comes on and abs goes away.

Needs a good Hoover, but undecided whether to wash the outside before knockhill .

Removed the seat from the space runner. Fuck it is heavy, but becomes mega roomy

It will fit a door in diagonally.

EDIT - The car felt a bit lively earlier and I was concerned about the new tyres. Had a hunt online and it says that the beast is RWD! I didnt know that. Would explain the back being a little twitchy on hard cornering.

Been track prepping the Megane (I.e. making sure it won't explode on first corner.)

The only mega issue is that the gear lever moves about 2cm when power is applied. Diagnosis was a knackered engine mount.

I couldn't quite work out which one so ordered all three for £45.

Annoyingly I need a deep 16mm socket to undo the mount on gearbox and drivers side. All my sets have 15 & 17 but not the required size. Size does matter kids!

Managed to get the gearbox one off through combination of slow spanner action and impact wrench.

Old and new

All back together.

Verdict is that it has made a bit of difference. I think the drivers side is toast. Socket ordered.

It'll be the lower / rear mount. Happened on the coupe I had. Popular upgrade is to fit the mount from a renaultsport clio 172

Question for Megane lickers - abs light is on. What do I need to read it? Will cheapy code reader work?

Free car!

I bought this Megane from Babydriver for use at knockhill. I have fixed the knackered engine mounts.

Reality is that it will be surplus to my needs at about 5pm on Sunday 13th November.

I would ideally like to drive back to Accrington in the starlet as it will need MOT in December.

So if anyone wants it for free from Kinross (or local ish ) then they can have it.

Good bitz

MOT till December

MOT history is really good

Squishy comfy seats

Been getting 40 ish mpg out of it

All electrics work

Remote alarm and central locking

Alloys with locking wheel nuts(key included)

Best price in the worlds

Bad bits

Abs light is on

Front exhaust is blowing

CD player doesn't work

Needs a good clean as BD used it for hauling wood

Rear boot needs to be opened with a pen

Spare is on car as NSF wheel had a screw in it

Free car!

Just turn up at this house....

3-cottagesJPG.jpg

Between 6 and 8 pm on the 13th.... And honestly there wont be anybody hiding in the bushes pissing themselves.

Oh sorry, wrong thread!

Now if you have been back in Accy with this I'd have nipped over with the lad and some beer on the train and left the beer. But Kinross? Sounds a bit Scottish to me.....

Trusted seller see !

A+++++ highly recommended.

Not really surprised as it drives so well. Would never think it has got 145k on it.

Need to do something about seats as they are not very supportive when enthusiastically cornering.

Apparently gen 7 Celica seats do bolt in.
