The Reverend Bluejeans
Drove past KR Autos today: http://krautos-sheffield.co.uk And on a truck outside was a pageant blue W plate Maxi. Smack up t' arse in 'drivers side like but complete. No pics as I was in a bit of a hurry. What a bloody shame though. John Lennon was alive when that was built. And he had a Maxi. sierraman
God are they still on the go at KR Autos? Last time I went there is searched high and low for some centre caps for some pepper pots, when you could find some they wanted a testicle for them. Went there and they had a bucket load costing me a couple of quid for a set. Incidentally if it's old crusty shite you like in the Sheffield area, Deatons metals at Staveley have a good selection, went last week and there was a mk2 fiesta and a mk3 escort estate amongst 2 utterly fucked Rolls Royce Shadows. Trouble is, they are on drugs regarding parts prices. I weigh alloys and cats in there but rarely buy anything.

Jikovron
I weighed in my old van at stavely and found it a surreal experience in the deatons 'Office' its almost another realm entirely. The parts bloke is highly variable, a 14cux v8 ecu and loom for 15quid but 450quid for an actually fire engulfed p38 engine wasnt terribly attractive albeit fair play wages to pay ad diminio infinitum
Tamworthbay
One of the guys in the stores at Albert Looms in the 80s used to base his prices on whether he liked you or not. When we used to go in as a bunch of clueless young lads but very enthusiastic then stuff was stupid cheap but if some oink in a suit came in with an attitude then you just knew everything would be close to new prices. I spent a lot of time in there chatting to the guy, he had an interesting life including being a path lab assistant for a few years. He gave me a few tips that came in very useful when I later ended up working in path labs myself for a while.

The oldish chaps usually ok but the younger guy can never seem to make his mind up, then comes out with some pie in the sky price. Can anyone recommend a Good Scrapyard in Sheffield, where the prices aren't made up by the Sultan of Brunei.
