Its a 1991 900,16valve 2litre injection automatic.   One owner, parked outside for the last four years. Only 47000 miles with a ridiculous amount of service history, brochures, invoices and a service book with 38 stamps in!!  12 months MOT as well.

It looks as though it has never been polished at all in its life, but it has barely any rust, outside at least, and a scrape to the nearside wing. But it does have air conditioning!

I had a manual 900 8v with erratic Lucas FI and it wasn't much better, I think the 16v comes with Bosch FI so should be better.

I paid less than a thousand but more than five hundred, but I based my price on it being an automatic, the low mileage with an un believable amount of service history, the giffer trinkets and of course the 'patina'!

Proper class that is, little bit of a tidy up planned for after you've piddled off the club beardies?

I will keep the oily bits good and later on I shall remove the green slime and moss and tidy up the wheel arch. I am very reluctant to try and polish it though.

I'm sure i've seen this on Facebook i think for sale?, I'm sure someone was asking what it was worth as they had been left it and it was parked on a sloped driveway for years?

Probably the same one then Trigger,as this one was sorned for 4 years and parked outside. I bought it via a Saab forum.

That engine is supposed to be the most economical, but add in the box and perhaps 30 will be an average day. I used to manage an easy 35 below 80mph in a twin carb GLs (the old uneconomical 8v), if you drove with an eye to economy. Back then, that was good for a biggish car.

With a little care it could last yonks, an lpg kit could make it useful for higher miles if the economy started eating a hole. Amazing quality.
