Bloody Big Bad Benz is the Bloody Biggest Piece of Tosh

This is going to be a halfways proper collection. Halfways, because no railwayage will (hopefully) be included. And no R20TX. Thus no ISIS. But Mr Conelrad.

Which could make up for it.

So following a well planned impulse purchase, some chod will be pickeridged up on Saturday afternoon.

I was looking forward to some age relatedly comfortable trip, with getting up at noon time and leisurely cruising to the purveyor of said shite, then be back home

in time for coffee and Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, altogether taking maybe 3 hours, if that.

But alas. It was not to be.

Despite the car is actually located in a northeasterly direction from here, the trip will now commence with an 8am start, and instead of actually heading northeast,

it will naturally begin with a journey southward, what else?

Why such odysseyish higgedly piggledyness, you may ask legitimately.

Well, it is because we will first join the Midlands Massive and the visiting SVM delegation for some games at the Cannockian version of Sotheby's.

So in a nutshell:

After buying a car located northeast of us, we'll head south to a car auction, before we'll hopscotch all the way up to collect it, then head back home,

a 250 mile round trip, all the way around the Peak District, in a haunted Rover. So add ubiquitous grenading potential and impeding OMGSNOKAOZ to the mix.

On the plus side, we will just about avoid Lincolnshire. So at least I can leave the garlic and weaponry at home.

You should always take garlic and weaponry with you irrespective of geographicality.

Eagerly awaiting developments. Is it possible to go northwest of you without getting wet, though?

I have no idea. I hitherto successfully managed to avoid expeditions into such uncharted territories.

Bolton is merely way out of our trajectory.

Which means it might have a lucky escape.

Although part of me is looking forward to the trail of devastation we'll leave in our wake.

Collection is live. Stage one : into a freezing heaterless Rover with blowing exhaust.

Well into stage two. A heated Rover with nice sounding exhaust. We're late for Cannock anyway, so we're taking the A roads.

Due to unforseen events, we are back exactly where we started stage two.

I phoned the seller to ask if we could pick up the car tomorrow instead, but this is idea greatly displeased him. So the collection thread is still live...

Junkman called into work unexpectedly. We had to dash off from Cannock. Setting off again now in the green 405, the third car involved in this collection thread, with Mrs Junkman taking Mr Junkman place behind the wheel.

Yeah, I'm no longer part of this collection thread. And for this, I got up at an ungodly hour this morning.

To say that maximum pissed off level is reached would be an understatement of downright British proportion.

Two nuns driving through Transylvania when a Vampire jumps into the road and blocks them.

First nun: 'Quick, quick, show it your cross'

Second nun: WInds down the window and shouts 'Oi, feck off you toothy git'

The haunted Rover appears to have aged somewhat on the journey. Which space/time continuum are you doing this thread in?

It's just that Cannock is 20 years behind the rest of the world so a P6 will naturally turn into a P4 on entry to the borough.

When you leave then the world and your car, turns back to normal.

hope mrs junk gives seller a mouthful for being a coont :(

Why? - There's a stack of grumps on here about buyers changing their plans at short notice and expecting sellers to accommodate them...in what way is this different??

Agreed, I hope my earlier post didn't make it sound like I was upset about the seller wanting the car collected today.

It didn't at all, there just seems to be a lot of double standards on here lately.

Enjoy your skinny, extra hot, extra wet caramel flat white ;)

The only two fancy coffee addicts I know are on tour, so what do you expect?
