This has been in my local car park for ages. Smashed window now so can't see it living much longerpost-19511-0-11954300-1514755190_thumb.jpg

I've noticed this hasn't moved for quite a while too. A few months ago I noticed the number plate had fallen off so I put under the front wiper. Its still there. Its a 220 diesel. Someone has snapped the badge off the front so its probably been noticed by the local feral kids we have imported from Telford...post-19511-0-21207700-1514755277_thumb.jpg

Has anyone seen that Crashed Renault Megane Convertible over the wooden fence on your left as you take the A40 into London. That building with the green roof....i think they used to have a tank/tardis on the roof of it can’t quite remember but the drink company ‘Monster’ are in this building now....couldn’t believe how its just left there....recovering it would certainly need at least one lane of the A40 closing which isn’t feasible whatever time of the day or night you decide to do it.....it must have been there a hell of a long time as all the brambles have grown into it too. Its obviously flipped and landed there but insurance company haven’t moved it....

Can anyone shed any light on it..??

See my previous post re crashed Renault on A40 - the car is in the brambles just after that footbridge as seen ahead in the picture. Look to your left and other side of the small wooden fence...this building aint far on from the Target Roundabout

Not far from my workplace!

There's an upside down trailer in a ditch on the A140 near Eye, Suffolk. It's at the bottom of a hill, covered in police tape and is missing a wheel. I went past it on Christmas Eve, and it's still there now.

I must admit to be severely tempted with trailers seemingly abandoned at the side of the road several times but the thought of what if they've just gone to get another wheel and are coming back stops me.

I nearly got to the hitching up stage with a caravan once but a quick check inside showed it was absolutely stuffed with worn out tyres...

I’d say they were definitely not coming back for that then!

It's a very busy main road and there's nowhere to stop nearby. It would be impossible to recover without coning off the road I reckon, which is why the owner hasn't bothered. The police probably said he'd be liable for the costs involved, which were more than the value of the trailer, so it'll probably stay there until the farmer pulls it out from the field side.

Seen a number of these around in the last year, knackered, mouldy old 'van totally stuffed floor to ceiling with waste/junk and dropped in a layby presumably at night. Two birds/one stone etc.

The front end/motor/trans a couple of pages back is a Mk1 Fraud Fiasco (wheels give it away), the engine is a Kent pushrod (OK pedants, Valencia I mean) so it'll be 950 or 1100cc. The bike is a Yamaha I think judging by the frame shape.

  • 2 weeks later...

A new addition to the local scenery, been there about two weeks now. Which is a bit naughty as it's outside the co-op so three hours max.

Driven into a pole? But the airbags haven't gone off, and there's no damaged poles anywhere in sight. Or maybe it was a poor attempt to ramraid the chip shop

There was a cracking old van dumped near me just before Xmas - I was at this point too but thought I'd talk to the local patrol plod first. He was all for it and encouraged me to get it moved. Sadly, after my Xmas jaunt I returned to it gone, replaced by a mobile fucking speed camera - guess how I knew that was there! Bugger

Bonfire time then!*

A friend and I "removed" an abandoned caravan from the side of the road once.  Got it 99% of the way back to his place, at which point the tow socket managed to jump off the tow ball (siezed mechanism) and as we were going slightly downhill, the caravan bumped the back of the SWB landrover we were in.  What do you do at that point?  Drive faster and pretend it's nothing to do with you!!  So we did.  Only the motorcycle following the caravan was about to try to overtake when the caravan starts drifting across to the wrong side of the road, and picking up speed.  Motorcyclist then ducks down the inside to overtake, looks over in shock when he realises there's no tow vehicle, and just gives it large to get away (and overtakes us in the LR.)  Caravan eventually scuffs to a stop on it's jocky wheel having nearly overturned as it tried to run up a steepish verge.

Fuckitty fuck.  Ratchet straps out, pull it out of the hedge/verge and hook it up again, twat the mechanism to lock the tow socket on properly this time, and drag it back.  And hide it well out of sight as we were convinced the plod would be along soon to feel our collars.  Never heard anything.

Weighed in all the aluminium, had a bonfire with all the wood, and used the flatbed chassis as a useful trailer for a couple of years.  Brilliant!

*I am of course joking.  I have only ever burned one tyre, and that was by mistake.  The smoke they give off is horrendous!

Would the airbags go off if it was parked and that was the corner of a wagon trailer that hit it?

Here in the Thames Valley we have a better class of dumped car and location.

This is on a public footpath in the middle of nowhere and has been there at least a couple of years.

It's beside a converted barn and seems to have CCTV cameras facing it.

MOT ran out at the end of 2013. Photo taken this summer but car still there.
