Giffer owner probably, bet theres nothing wrong with it under the green (other than rot, perhaps!)

It belonged to an old person who got taken into care and the car was left outside her flat. I presume it eventually got removed but I've not checked.

I was told a year but I took the pics in Dec 2017

The sign is the landowner saying it needed to be removed

I see, that makes sense. As mentioned above it's on a Sorn so possibly still exists somewhere

Any ideas what this might have been. 5 stud wheels, RWD, coil springs all round and disc front brakes. Near Errol on the Tay.

Mk1 or 2 Granada is my guess, not much to go on though! Not too many cars with chrome bumper, RWD, IRS, coil springs, and drums on the back. If I could figure out what part of the car picture two is, it would help...

It’s the glovebox upside down as the car was on its roof with its nose facing up the bank. I’d thought perhaps a Jag.

I agree with it being a Granada/Consul, and would suggest that it's a very basic model Mk1 such as this:

118 Ford Granada 2.0L Mk.I (1976) | Ford Granada 2.0L Mk.1 (… | Flickr

The bumper poking out of the ground matches that one for shape.  It was most likely a low spec car as it lacks a black rubber finishing strip and overriders.  Upper market models had one or other, generally, and some had both.  The Mk1 also had five wheel bolts, as seen there, and the rear axle setup is similar to that of the abandoned car.  The glove compartment and dashboard is something of a mystery: the Granada was modern enough to have a plastic dashboard, but the abandoned car appears to have a metal one.  Strange.

Definitely not a Jag.  Their IRS used quadruple springs and shock absorbers, one on each side of the driveshaft.

Saw a white 2013 Focus ST that was seemingly dumped today 🤔

It was in someone's garden so not like it was abandoned on the road, it was covered in greenery and dust so has clearly been there a while.

Wonder why they left it that way, lost license perhaps?

I'll see if I can find an image on street view if it's been there long enough

Died in hospital, gone into a care home, gone to jail, stuck abroad, cloned and dumped, rich owner who is bored of it, broken and no time to fix... I also wonder why sometimes.

There was a story in the local news within the last week about an overgrown house in Ramsgate; the front garden had a van (Renault Trafic), boat, and 'luxury car' (unspecified) parked in it, but only the back doors of the van could be seen.  Its been like that since at least 2009.  It reminded me that there is another abandoned Renault Trafic very close by (I've checked, it's about 2 1/2 miles).  Which has also been there since at least 2009.

The top two pictures are of the house in the news report, the bottom two are down the road from Thanet ambulance station.

Are any of your other readers aware of two (or more) same model vehicles abandoned in close proximity?

And a caravan in the woods

Unusual to see something that old abandoned on a driveway these days, I recall these being disposable in about 1990 but not now. It doesn't look too bad!
