Lankytim
Not quite dumped but these have been at the back of a dealers forecourt for years, maybe 10 plus. Is there a reason for keeping scrap this long? Tax liabilities? BTW, they’re priced up at circa 2009 prices, the Freelander is over 3k face, worldofceri, Split_Pin and 3 others

purplebargeken
There is a red Mercedes parked up outside an abandoned pub just 5 minutes away, flat tyres, drivers side window down. Looks pretty solid. Posters had been stuck on the windows but have since been removed, so someone must be keeping an eye on it. It's an old model, the one with vertical lozenge type headlights, maybe K or L reg. The pub is on the main road too. I haven't looked too closely, I daren't. I'll try and get a piccie soon. Amishtat
The Minx had sat there since 1991 at least, the owner didn't seem remotely concerned about Brentwood Cuntcil sticking their noses and stickers on things which didn't concern them. Datsuncog
I think there's some sort of scenario whereby car dealers can offset tax liability against unsold stock, or something like that. At least, I was told (by someone else) that this was the reason for a local garage retaining a whole row of decaying scrappers at highly optimistic prices. They were also exceedingly cagey about anyone looking at them - or taking pics. I snapped these in 2000... ...but when I happened to be passing in 2008 and tried to take a couple more pics, one of the sales staff spotted me and started shrieking that they were going to call the police, tried to block me from leaving, etc etc. When I surreptitiously went back two years ago, nearly all the wrecks had been cleared, with only a few unloved 90s cars now remaining. Still, they provided me with my avatar... HMC, Lankytim, Skizzer and 5 others 7

purplebargeken
The Daf in Ilford may be one I went to look at a couple of years ago, I left a note but no-one ever responded. Maybe. Can't recall if it was a 44 or 55, possibly a 44.
Tadhg Tiogar
Near the office...... Since I originally took this photo (in July last), the TVR has been shunted nearer to the house and its numberplates have been removed. It has been sitting there ever since I first started working in Ealing, and that was nearly eight years ago.

The whole site is jam packed full of this stuff from when they were a Rover Main Stealer. Mother Steve79 has had her Charade serviced here for years so we know them quite well. They will sell the cars but only at the window price which includes a full restoration. Think they'll find spares availability issues though. That maroon magentis has been on the site for about 10 years always advertised at around £2495. Not2grand did a YouTube video there in april. What you can't see is that in the gated off yard at the back there are a crap load of cars in the undergrowth including 80's and 90's Citroen shite (bx, ax and xm) from years ago when they were a citroen dealer.
