Indeed it is still alive - I snapped a few pics of it yesterday on the outskirts of Belfast:

Looks very much cared for - and I hope to see more of it, if it's local!

Out of interest, where did you find your pic of CBE? Online search result, or is it a 'known car' in shiter circles?

I queried the registration plate with the term 'and Fiesta' on a search engine and found an image.  I've certainly never heard of it before.  Lovely looking car, though.

That looks great, if not photoshopped.

Had a feeling it might be, shame.

I did it yesterday as I had read this thread earlier. It took about 20 minutes to do.

I found the picture on here. It was posted in the Ebay Tat thread I think.

I shortened the front doors, added about 2" to the wheelbase, and then just stitched it together. If you look closely at the picture yu can probably see the joins and copy and paste bits. The most difficult part was trying to get the shut line around the arch to look OK.

Nice work, looks really good!

ALFA ROMEO ITALDESIGN CAPSULA

"The real peculiarity of the #ItaldesignCapsula consists in the interchangeable base, made up of the transmission, the steering wheel, the tank, the spare wheel, the boot, the heating, the lights and the engine, which was the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder boxer (104 HP ) of #AlfaRomeo Alfasud. The bodywork could be easily removed and replaced with others of various types, intended for the transport of passengers, goods or even cars: among the suggested applications there was also that of a tow truck.

The car body of the minivan was made up of five parts: the side ones, the front and rear ones (which fitted into the base) and a roof spar, designed to keep them all together."

Via @autofdate

Edit: It wouldn't have looked too bad if it didn't have the upstairs level...

Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT V8. Only two or three of these were built. They had the 2.6 V8 from the Montreal.

Surely one of the best sounding engines of all time. I wish the Montreal had actually been a good car, so there'd be more of them around!

The way some engines are joined to produce a bigger one ( VAG W12 and BMW 0.5 “modules” for example), Briggs -Stratton could have made an epic air cooled 1.6 litre V 16 from their 100cc lawn mower engines.

Stumpy Horizon predecessor I guess

C2 short was a shortened and IIRC narrowed down Horizon which would have been the Samba, the contemporaneous Sunbeam just being a stopgap car for the city hatchback market. Can’t remember if they were developed at the same time or C2 short was a subsequent development. Canned when PSA bought Chrysler Europe and in 1981 the 3-door 104 was lengthened a touch and rebadged with the T in a circle we all know and love*
