£360 for 6 new injectors. I forgot to bring one with me at the weekend for you to ogle after the comment you made regarding their bigliness.

£300 for the work including 5 new rockers, a refurb rocker shaft and a pushrod.

Last year Cummins in Cumbernauld charged £1200 to diagnose and fix one injector and put a new rocker cover gasket on. When George took the the engine apart, the damage to the rockers and pushrods was years old and the rocker cover gasket had stretched too much to be only 18 months old.

The yellow Olympian has disgraced itself. Again. This time it's the fuel system... ehhhhh... again.

It would seem that the fuel injection pump has shat itself with the man at West of Scotland Engineering saying "It's in a pretty bad way. There's bits of metal inside it" and quoting £1350 + vat for a complete overhaul.

Still looking for options. With any luck that £1350 was a "We'll do it but we really can't be arsed" type quote so I'll hunt about. The other option is an ebay purchase of about £600 unless the man that did the injectors recently can come up trumps.

This thing will be the death of me.

3 months on and the yellow Olympian still hasn't moved. It's had £600 worth of new fuel pump and £80 of pipes and fittings. Still faulty. So while I await the opportunity to go back to Barrhead and try changing the Pulse Damper on the fuel pump (came from the old pump) have a gratuitous video of the engine "running" straight from a can of fresh diesel in order to rule out a clogged fuel system...

Like the Green 3 I thoroughly enjoyed reading through this thread :) (its interesting to see this one has had its interior lighting renewed at some point and fitted with the same type of fixtures you find on Trident ALX400s and Dartmasters)

glad to see at least 1 of these tri-axle double deckers are in preservation :)

Quick update since the above video.

The mad revving was caused by a broken injector clamp so that got replaced and it got another new injector.
It shat it's exhaust manifold gaskets which necessitated an 18 month layoff waiting for parts.

Finally an MoT was put on it on 20th December 2019

Then this (for those who don't already know) on the 29th of December

Arsonist bastards!

Insurance paid out a decent amount so that's something. More for the 205 fund.
This is the last I will talk of this matter.
