Long travel suspension on French cars, particularly the Renault 4 and the Citroen 2CV, make accordion noises when going from full extension to full compression or vice versa. It is considered to be more civilised than tyre squeal.

If you drive a 2CV over the cobblestones at the Citroën test track it will play La Marseillaise.

If the Uk votes to leave the EUthen all European built cars will be classed as immigrants and repatriated. Sadly it means we will lose the delightful DS, the iconic 911 and the gorgeous Alfas, but on the plus side container loads full of Allegros and Marinas will be arriving daily at Dover.

The Laguna Problem.  Renault wanted to create a long lasting and reliable car and decided the best way to do this was to create every known fault ever found on any vehicle, invent some faults that should not be possible and to then reverse engineer them into a fully functioning car.  Proof, if ever it were needed, that the road to Hell is paved with Good Intentions.

patrick le quément decided that if they made one model extremely bad then everything that followed would be considered to be reliable and well built

unfortunately the manufacturing departments never recieved the memo specifying that it was to be ONE model or even which model

Following the takeover, Peugeot sold the tooling for the Talbot Tagora to Peykan in Iran.

Converted to take a lengthened Hunter chassis and powered by the 1500cc engine from the Avenger, the Peykan Scimitar was expected to be hugely popular with dignitaries and taxi drivers in Tehran who were looking forward to a more spacious, modern replacement for the Hunter. However within days of the launch, Reliant launched a huge legal battle over the name which ultimately prevented sales of the new car in Iran and bankrupted Reliant.

Reliant won the case but it was a hollow victory. The one pre production prototype that survived was awarded to Reliant and immediately purchased by Princess Anne who still uses it to take clippings and general rubbish from her flat in Balham to Wandsworth tip.

Very true.  Well known problem with pre-airbag Vauxhalls is that most models can be started by removing any number of dashboard components and re-installing them upside down, including the steering wheel.  This is how you can tell a Vauxhall has been stolen on eBay.  Cavcraft recommends you never buy a Vauxhall with an upside down steering wheel.

Jaguar LandRover are planning a full range of SUVs. After the F-pace and the forthcoming E-pace, the range will extend to more utility-oriented models, substituting the pace of sporty versions with pack-ability. As the new compact Focus-class Jaguar XS is well under development, the SUV counterpart S-pack cannot be far away. Though some insiders are suggesting it has had some developmental issues.
