I've decided to do a roffle over on facebook for the Stellar, I don't imagine many on here will want to participate but just in case here's the link:

What does a man need with two Stellars? But for potentially £20, I'm finding it hard to say no. It'd be nice to hear that familiar Mitsubishi lump again after clocking up 100,000 miles with it.

I've been putting this off since around May last year but finally made a start on filling and sanding the chevette, I might get some paint made up at the weekend and give it a rapid respray in the same colour of blue,  I would love to change the colour but can't be bothered with a full on respray so at least if I keep it the same I can shut the doors and just do a quick job.

The car is still covered in dents so there's no point in trying to make the paint look amazing because it's always going to be a bit rubbish.

Fuck it

It's really quite difficult to see where all of the bits that need more filler are until it's had some paint on it, there were areas that initially looked ok when covered in primer but after sticking some bright blue paint on I can see a ot of lines which need filled/smoothed out as well as welding that hasn't been dressed.

I'd like to do better but I'm looking at it and seeing a shit load of dents in the majority of panels so at this stage I'd be happy with panels that look presentable and aren't packed full of filler. The dents and misaligned panels don't really bother me.

I'm sure after painting it the original colour and adding a white pinstripe nobody will really notice...

I've been learning some different welding processes over the last few weeks, usually I do stick/MMA and flux cored MIG welding as well as regular mig welding in the garage.

Now I'm doing pulsed mig which is a lot colder and trickier to master and easier to get weld defects.

Also doing a bit of Tig welding which is much more relaxing.

The tests consist of welding a 10mm thick butt in vertical, horizontal and overhead positions.

It's so much easier than welding rusty old cars.

I bought a caliper rebuild kit and set about trying to fit it today with a terrible hangover.

Got it finished eventually but brake fluid went absolutely everywhere in the process and it took ages to bleed the brakes.

What a fiddly and messy job, there's a very good reason I've been avoided doing it for so long...

After fixing the brakes on the Subaru the radiator started leaking and the exhaust broke at the middle section which gives it that low warble like an Impreza with a large exhaust.

I picked up a used radiator today so hope I can fix it this weekend.

In other news I've put my Escort up for roffle over on Facebook at £20 a go which has nearly sold out and been paid up in the first day of posting it.

Also decided to sell some of my bikes, I sold the KDX 200 tonight, the KE 100 a couple of days ago and one of my KMX 125's might be going tomorrow.

I'm actually quite sad to see the KDX go because it was great fun to thrash around off road but there are less and less places to go around here with it and I can get a similar enjoyment of thrashing a 125 legally on the road.

That'll leave me with an Aprilia, KMX and a little pink 100cc Yamaha to play with.

Comparing them to an original single ford wheel I had lying around they are almost exactly the same but look like they take sleeved nuts rather than the tapered nuts the ford alloy uses.

Only just seen this.

We pay £20 a wheel for those, more if they are shiny.

Get £5 back scrap, when we've smashed them.

I can get the holes countersunk so tapered nuts fit, but I'm miles away.

I'm wanting to sell them now, not going to use them on anything.

ebays showing delivery at £39.99 for 4, which dent's your cash somewhat.

It's a few weeks before I need them, have a think about it.

You will sell them up there on f/b, but possibly for a little less.

I decided to put the s123 up for sale and had a lovely couple come down from Peterhead to view it.

The woman really wanted it but the guy was a little bit apprehensive about the short test and the crusty bits so decided to give it a miss.

I didn't think the rust was that bad, just a couple of frilly bits around the boot corner/wheel well which after a few taps of the hammer turned into slightly bigger holes...
