Being from Gretna (although I did move away in 1983, before it became uncool.... probably) I was slightly worried it would be someone I knew.
I am only a couple of Kevin Bacons away though it seems:

If you search their name they actually have around 5 different profiles and also go by the surname Woodhouse.

I managed to get the Subaru up on the ramp yesterday and it seems to be more solid underneath than my black roadworthy one, I think it will need the brakes sorted, a pair of front drive shafts and a hole in the bed welded up and it might go through an mot. It now starts up and drives fine with no issues.

Interested in the 309 if you sell it.

It could be yours for what it owes me (£500) but I'm not actively trying to sell it at the moment, if you want it just let me know. It drives well, seems to be in good mechanical condition with very little rust and no rot. I drove it for a few miles earlier and other than the brakes not being the sharpest from it sitting unused for 6 months  I really can't see it needing anything for the mot.

It can't have been that, it was the husband that initially contacted me offering the money then his wife phoned me and spoke about the specifics of the deal, she agreed to send a deposit then I would deliver it and she would pay the rest in cash.

They do look like a pair of jakeys and looking through their facebook profiles didn't fill me with confidence that they were the kind of people who would want a Lada but they had both seen photos of the car and had read the description so I thought I might as well go along with it.

I think the ‘about Billy’ part says enough.

Fair enough. It looks nice though so can’t wait to see more about it.

Ive just checked the dvla vehicle checker and it’s a 2.3 so your looking good so far!

It's a manual too, I think it's carbed but haven't looked under the bonnet yet. The head lining is interesting it looks like artex or paper mache or someone painted it with emulsion.

You capitalist bastard!!!
No seriously that sound like a good year, buy something you like, smoke about in it then sell it on with a bit of profit. That’s the way to do it.
Most of my profits go into a savings account which I'm using to save for a house, I'm just shy of £25k at the moment.
It's good to be able to mess around with cars, experience lots of different kinds of cars and sell them on when I feel like it. I'm sure I could probably save quicker if I just cut down to one cheap car and put my monthly wage straight into the bank but it's more interesting wasting it on cars each month.
I very rarely buy things just to sell on, I buy what I like and if it turns out I don't like it there's always the option of selling it on.
