DodgyBastard
RJC_8971 by srblythe, on Flickr The Audi is a step closer to having an mot, I picked up a used brake regulator the other night for £40, I could only find brand new ones for around £200 so was happy with that. It still needs wheel cylinders and handbrake cables but they are relatively cheap. It also needs all of the rear brake lines replaced, I farmed out the remedial mot work for the Polo and I'm planning on doing the same for the Audi, I really can't be bothered spending all of my free time working on cars. RJC_8974 by srblythe, on Flickr I started to have issues with the fuel pump relay on the 230E again so bypassed it completely with a switch, it seems to be working fine so far. I also fitted a set of new tyres, I was having some real problems inflating one of them/making the bead seal so filled it with acetylene and boom! it popped onto the rim. It was a lot easier than using hairspray and a lighter. BeEP, CGSB, egg and 7 others

This brings the total pickup count to 4, this, 2 Subaru MV's and a Ranger. For the most part they are pretty fucking useless but I like them all the same. DodgyBastard
Looks damn smart to me, whenever I get offered swaps, it's for something that the scrapyard turned away! Most of the swaps I was offered previously were cars of that description, vectras, e46 bmws, golf's etc. I really just wanted to sell the car but with this swap I saw an opportunity to get something I'd probably never actually go out and buy.I'm still not 100% what to do with it, it seems far too new and shiny for me to ruin and complicated modern engines scare me so quite tempted to sell it while it's in good working order. DodgyBastard
That's the C230 away and been part exchanged for this turd. RJC_0280 by srblythe, on Flickr RJC_0282 by srblythe, on Flickr It's a 2004 Audi A6 Avant Sport, 1.9 TDI engine and 6 speed manual gearbox, mot until March 2020 and 160k on the clock. The gear linkage bushing is knackered, my pal brought the car through from Glasgow using 2nd 3rd and 4th but since trying to adjust the linkage from inside the car it's currently stuck in 1st. Only after chucking it on the ramp I discovered the bushing on the gearbox is knackered and has been bodged with a bit of wire holding it on. I've ordered a replacement and should be here by Friday. Anyone want it? Lord Sterling

Flat4
How soon do you want it shifted? Vectra is still costing me a fortune in diesel so a 6-speed 1.9TDi sounds more preferable to a 5-speed 2.2. Scotland isn't too difficult to get to.
