mk2_craig
A really solid and rare 2 door Scrote Estate, obviously stood under a tree for a while but otherwise good These fetch decent sums on Ebay if in serviceable nick. 1.6 badge on a low spec Escort usually points to auto transmission (or diesel lump), don't know what the best trim level was on this body style but probably L or at a push GL. r.welfare
1.6 badge without a trim letter would indicate a bifterstick trans and, I reckon, a Motability car. Probably German built which is why it looks so solid! You could get a 1.6 engine in the Mk3 estate on the L and GL only, normally.Haven't seen an Audi 100 Avant like that for yonks. Top spot, even has the original alloys. Guess this era of 100 (and 200) have all rotted away to nothing by now, being from the era before Audi went mental for galvanising. AXrescuer
Bloody R11 TXE Electronic and in black as well! Oh hai, i luv yu, wud yu like to live wiv me.An ex-R.O.C. car, used to turn up at events and was advertised in the mag at one point. When I enquired several years ago it was missing, presumed dead. Nice to see it's still alive and kicking - maybe now's your chance to track it down and put in an offer Mr Lobster Looking at my own car and the others that have appeared on the site just recently makes me realise that although the original R11 started to look dated in the late eighties, it now looks much more attractive and individual than the bland shite phase two that followed it.Couldn't agree more. Here's a photo of the R11 I owned.
Pete-M
I reckon they cunningly came up with a way of making the bumpers utterly disintegrate on the merest touch necessitating several hundred pounds in materials and labour every time you pop to Tescos, just a guess! You don't drive a Ford Scorpio, by any chance? I don't think I've ever owned or even seen one of those without at least one bit of gaffer tape on a bumper. My old one was devoid of gaffa tape :-)Headlamp washers for those things are purest Unobtanium

pogweasel
TBH there was alot of old tat concentrated in quite a small area there which surprised me too. Not Photographed included some lovely Saabs in Peckham Rye, a dirty Minor PickUp and a lovely hand-painted Hillman Husky/Commer Cob in Peckham High Street (All clearly still in service). Oh and was behind a 'SpottedLaurel' Bluebird all the way from Sydenham to the old kent road... Sadly, 'boy wonder' who comes with me on some of these workday jaunts can't drive and has no knowledge of shite, so I quite often miss the good stuff as I ought to be maintaining control of the vehicle. I guess they don't get hi-ab'd as there's a fair likelyhood of getting stuck in traffic with your hot cargo...
