While I totally get the wondering what happened bit, you do remember what "new" Monzas looked like after 7-8 years surely? 2013-15 is about as far back as a Monza's trip from showroom to scrappy!

I'm just surprised anyone would put that level of effort into restoring a car from 2013-2015 and then abandon it in a field two years later. Very odd.

Oh, now there's a choice!

I had a 924S, wonderful thing. So well made, and just the right amount of power, but... Monza.

Looking at the height on that I do wonder if ours was a LeMans after all. It had LeMans wheels and sat lower I think, but no idea if it was 160hp. Maybe the white is also deceptive.

I think there is a good chance I will get to drive the Monza at a future date.

Very true, maybe some bad life stuff happened. Covid/lockdown must have had similar impacts on cars more recently - it's why I sold the Tavria and RX-8 to avoid such scenarios if things go wrong landlord/house-wise.

Ideas for FoD 2023

Start that car Weekend!

Alfa Giulietta

Herald 1200 Coupe

Vauxhall Royal

?????

------

Motorbike Weekend

Let’s see if we can make some of the field bikes working for the enjoyment of all.

------

Photoshoot all our cars Weekend

I would love to assemble as many of our cars as we can for a group photo.

That should be over 50 cars.

Anybody fancy getting involved with this project?

------

Anybody have any other weekend project ideas?

------

We now have a roofed if not sealed barn

Get Dolly the Model 70 Roadworthy!

Engine out, replace clutch shoes, engine back in, replace brakelines, get lights working, give a bloody good servicing to everything,

and that should be it! deceptively simple LOL (oh and the small matter of the broken wheel stud...)

I also would love to have a bash at getting the Milk float moving under its own sparks :)

Are you thinking of doing one Radwood weekend at the start of September?

Just bought FotU ticket which reminded me of it.

I see the Radwood Bicester Heritage is 2nd September 2023 and we will be pleased to provide camping for any Autoshiters attending. FoD 14 miles away.

FOTU is being held out of our area so I probably won't attend that.

What a very nicely roofed barn you have there

Pleasing to see that the slates are settling and the scaffold is gone now.  Any plans on the floor?

Yes it is lovely to have a roof.

We need to earn some more money before we do any more. We do have one roller shutter door to fit and there is a local window company who I hope we can get more pallets from to block off the other openings for now.

Definitely up for all of those!

Barn is looking fantastic with the scaffold down now, too.

I may well take you up on that, thank you!

Preparing for my trip to Milton Keynes Classic Cars breakfast gathering in the morning I was pleasantly surprised the car started without assistance.

Each time I have been to it it has needed a jump start and the garage who MOTed it reported the battery would not hold a charge. I left it on an old fashion charger for 3 days solid, then rested it for 3 days and today it started instantly. Tyre pressures check as @Slowsilver  was not here to do that. Two were very low, one 17 psi and one has held pressure.

The other good thing is there was no engine management light on, it has been a bit of a saga with this car. I had the camshaft position sensor changed as this was the code it threw up. After driving the car just a few miles the light was back on so we will see what tomorrow brings.
