chaseracer Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 KEWL! Can I have the Speedlines for the Blingo, please?
Cleon-Fonte Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Yay, the BX bike lives another year ... I'm sure it will have many more. Surely it will live on until every Autoshite member has owned it at some point?
RichardK Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Surely it will live on until every Autoshite member has owned it at some point? I suspect that's doubtful. Six-cylinder's place is like the Hotel California of cars Cleon-Fonte and andrew e 2
Six-cylinder Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 I suspect that's doubtful. Six-cylinder's place is like the Hotel California of cars I had never picked up on that before...... "We are programmed to receive. You can check-out any time you like, But you can never leave! " You are right we tend not to sell cars once we have them but I think that holding on to this BX is probably bad form, so while I may not advertise it, I would release it on request. It stands me in at £300 with the welding and fresh MOT, anybody up for it. andrew e and CGSB 2
Six-cylinder Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 KEWL! Can I have the Speedlines for the Blingo, please? I also have my mothers old BX GTi which is on steels and missing plastic covers, so the plan is a set of alloys will go on it. Not sure which ones the Speedlines look better but the Picasso wheels will fit easier.
Six-cylinder Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 Yesterday I drove my CX to London where Brodie Eng are going to replace the climate control heater switch and sort a manifold exhaust blow. In spite of these faults it was an absolute delight to drive it there. On the way to London I noticed the wiper was not clearing the screen properly so stopped at Red Rose garage in Wendover who have an proper old fashion parts shop, when the book did not show the CX they went out and measured it and if that was not enough they fitted it. All this was for £6.99. I bought a CX wiper there in 2006 so I knew they stocked them! What a pleasant and interesting place to be amongst the tools and accessories, with fair prices. I want to call in next time I am passing just to mooch around. When I reached Brodie Eng what a treat for the eyes, 2 X Citroen SM and a Mercedes 600 among others. Six-cylinder Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 and why do you want a range rover?? Thanks, that's not nice to embarrass me in public, ok I am fat, old and vain!
Six-cylinder Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 My CX is home the heater controls work at last. The exhaust needed a new s/h manifold and new back box but now is quiet. I just need to sort out some paintwork now. It is a great car to drive now. D Spares & Tyres, Junkman, Lacquer Peel and 4 others 7
Bren Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I love the cx but that merc is fit. However Clarkson owned one......
Cleon-Fonte Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I love the cx but that merc is fit. However Clarkson owned one...... I still would, Clarkson or no Clarkson. Nothing's more empowering than driving a car which makes other motorists think you killed millions of your own people. Sigmund Fraud, barrett, andrew e and 3 others 6
Six-cylinder Posted March 6, 2016 Author Posted March 6, 2016 On the drive this morning. Then turn round in the lay-by. What should I use for this afternoons trip out to visit my mother in her nursing home! Lacquer Peel, Junkman, DVee8 and 1 other 4

The Reverend Bluejeans Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 I do like that 500SEC. They're very proper. Six-cylinder 1
Six-cylinder Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Last night a friend came to stay and bought his new toy with him, as usual being very generous to me I got to give it a drive this morning. Looks great. Sounds good if a little quiet. V8 6 speed manual, goes well. Brakes feel like they are grabbing and are hard to be smooth with. It feels like it is built to a price in some details. NorfolkNWeigh Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 About, that down to price thing....£226 per BHP £83 perBHP And if current values of Monaros and SRT8 300Cs is anything to go by in 5 or 10 years time the Yank will be worth double the Merc. Junkman, xtriple and danthecapriman 3

Maybe, electric seat base but the backrest is a fiddly manual catch and really cheap plastic dash.
cort16 Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I have to say those Mustangs have had me seriously considering re-mortgaging my house. If you've got netflix there's a documentary on their about them developing it. http://usa.newonnetflix.info/info/80073414/s trigger, Junkman, dome and 2 others 5
NorfolkNWeigh Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Maybe, electric seat base but the backrest is a fiddly manual catch and really cheap plastic dash.Sounds a bit like my Chrysler 300! Coming from a Merc it felt cheap for a little while, then I got used to it and realised it may feel cheap but it was certainly tough. Went back to Ze Germans and for the first few weeks I kept caressing the trim and listening to the lack of creaks , feeling smug- right up to the engine went bang. cort16, Asimo and alf892 3
Six-cylinder Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 My friend is a yank fan and also has: 1989 Mustang 5.0 manual saloon 1972 5.7 Corvette 5.7 Auto 1964 Galaxie 500 Coupe 392 Cu I got first drive on the mustang as I collected it for him, He had the Corvette delivered to my house so it took him 5 days before hegot it away from me. The Galaxie was bought while he was homeless and he said he could only buy it if I would look after it and that lasted over a year with him borrowing it from me! dome, danthecapriman, RobT and 4 others 7

Six-cylinder Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 The first bit of colour paint on the Citroen GS today, only base coat in door shuts and door insides so far. The colour is Brun Cigale and I have even bought yellow fog lights because I like that look. andrew e, NorfolkNWeigh, trigger and 5 others 8
