Today I borrowed a car to take to a car club meeting tonight.

What have I borrowed?

Of all the people I know you’re the least likely to need to borrow an appropriate car for any meetings.

omg i just watched a brummie whos rebuilding a six cyl spec range rover after someone lightly rolled it into a ditch (!)

hes facelifting it to 2018 and hes putting the lights on and the svr bits too

the lights were 3500 second hand !!?!?!!111111one!!!!!!11111

thats completely insane - chris buy some protectors for yours quick

i found out how much the led light was for the bike and for the sake of a 20 quid piece of plastic - no way im paying that if it breaks

The dip switch caught me out, I asked slowsilver to check the lights on my borrowed car this afternoon and it took me a minute to find the dip switch because it is floor mounted.

My Mum had one identical to the blue mk2, lovely thing especially to my 10year old self.  Remember my Dad touching 120 in it on an A road..

Found some of the details.  E28  BMW 528 Ci, 2788cc Reg number, B214RLM, Alpine white, first registered March 1985.  Pleased to say it is still taxed and MOTd, to July this year.  Still looking for the mag. The car was left unused for several years. The person I bought it from was a journalist, or friend of one, and wrote an article about re-commissioning it that was published in late 1990s. It was from that article I put an offer in, and it was accepted. I had it for 3 -4 years, and enjoyed it.  I was informed by a BMW specialist that where the bulkhead and front of floor joins it had rotted out across the width of the car, as well as other areas, and repair was "not practical" . Obviously that was not the case, as more than 10 years on, it is still on the road.  I know that mag is somewhere!

Found a pic of it here on AS

Oh, hai!  What did you need?  Pictures of the Pink moped?  Ah yes:

As opposed to those indirect bikes, naturally.

You did how many miles like that?  Actually, I don't want to know.

Except not really, as it's not a runner.  Fix it?
