"Little bit of weekend work" 😂

I thought for a second that the price was £10.5k😁.....oh hang on, it actually is! Nice quote from those "characters"  from the tele there. Anyway I guess "it's got the makings"😂.

A very mild one compared to others above, this fella just doesn't seem to get it.

Yes I can sympathize the frustration of receiving offers £100-150 less than the asking price, but that's it's value. Who is going to pay more than scrap value for it? What are they going to do with it?

It's shitty Pug 107 that's accident damaged (structurally), out of MOT for over a year and it's done over 180k miles!

It's no good to go back on the road, and if I was looking for a donor engine and/or gearbox I wouldn't be using one that's done 180k miles!

What's the white over yellow thing on the left?

Looks like the back of a digger. It's quite an old photo now that I come to think of it.

I went out of my way to find old photos, although I admit I worked harder on the washing machine one because it 'had' to be a Zanussi

And me.

He will end up keeping it for that price, then weighing it in once the battery’s gone flat, tyres gone flat, interior full of mold….. for 50 quid.

The car was obviously cared for pre accident and he is obviously attached.

I feel bad for him, but it doesn't make it worth £500 to anyone else when you look at the prices of much better ones.

Only way to get close to his asking would be to strip it yourself, sell what you can and then take the scrap money.

Based on the MOT it's probably been sitting there for a year already! Or he was driving it without MOT and maybe insurance was invalid. Who knows, but yes, he's just wasting his time and doesn't quite realize it. To be honest there's no way I'd try and sell a car like that on the off chance someone might give you a bit more. I'd just weigh it in as it's not worth the time, as we all concur here!

This. In one breath he's saying "it's a nice little car that wants to be fixed" and in the next breath it's "an old car of course there are going to be minor issues"

So as soon as anyone discovers said minor issues on viewing it'll be an old car, what could you expect etc etc

"Wants to be fixed" ok - let's replace the panels and repair the structural damage by welding in a new quarter panel after using a frame machine to pull it straight. After the many, many hours of specialist labour ... What do we have? A 13 year old Peugeot with 180k miles, sans MOT with "some minor issues". Not to mention the costs, both time and labour to paint it afterwards

As you say, you can get a much better one for not much more. Repairing it simply doesn't stack up. Then having been structurally damaged repaired, it's value afterwards will usually only be about 70-80% of another without a write off marker. That's assuming the previous is declared, which morally it should be. If not legally

He doesn't want a trader to buy it, fix it and sell it. He wants it to go to someone who appreciates it... What the fuck is there to appreciate and what Joe bloggs has the equipment lying around at home to put that damage right!? 🤣

He also has this 320i that he loved driving till it failed its mot for sale. There is also a polo and a golf that look in need of work as well on the drive and that mystery thing in the background. They will string him along until the battery's flat, then their mate will get it for £50.

Christ. When will some people get it in their thick head that sometimes shit happens and at the end of it the car is fit for scrap. It’s a very poor example of a very common car, I just don’t get it.

This buyer is probably someone asking if it's still available and would like to come and see it at the end of next month when they get paid ... 😅

What a fucking cretin. "Don't message me"

He should be grateful for any interest he does receive.. in the very likely instance of the current "sale" going pear shaped.

HV09 SVA - let's see how long it takes until it receives a scrapped marker!
