She ran it for a year before the gearbox failed. My wife gave the replacement car to her friend who was learning to drive, when my wife decided that being pregnant meant she couldn't afford to run an 850 mini. My Dad gave my sister a 180K mile sierra estate in beige, when she came back from missionary work in the Cameroon. The same car he offer to me 6 months previously for £700. My father in law gave my wife a 29K mk3 cavalier after the Vauxhall dealer offered him £2K for it or £1500 off if he didn't have a part ex. I offered to sell it and promised to get him £2500, or I'd give him £1500 for it and keep it. My wife explained we didn't have £1500, so he gave it to her. We took it to 125K Some random bloke off the internet gave me a mk2 cavalier 1.8 Cdi auto, after I advertised it unsuccessfully for him on www.mk2cav.com My father in law gave my son his Astra mk4 with 19K on the clock last june. It’s been a great car and we have now done over 10,000 miles since May last year. In Dec I bought (yes paid cash over) a 2001 Volvo V70 to lighten its load but I like the 1990 Mercedes better. Mind=boggled. Yeah, I think it was more the fact that I offered to deal with the general public on his behalf, added to the fact that he knew we needed a new car, but couldn't afford it. I think he figured that if it was only worth £500 to the dealer, he may as well give it to us, rather than charge us money he knew we couldn't really afford. My mom and sister were discussing paying a shared bill while settling debts that they each owed one another. By the end of the convo I thought my head would explode. Almost all taxes ins or shite from the auction that didn't sell in no particular order er... About 3 mk2 fiestas, 3 escorts (two mk4 and a mk3 auto) Sierra Estate, bluebird Estate, mk2 Renault 5, k10 micra, mk2 astra Estate, fiat fiarino, rover 213 auto, cavalier mk2, favorit pickup, mini er and maybe more I can't remember.
