The Jac ES1 because of this video.

Produced in China and Mexico.

Wiki on the manufacture JAC. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JAC_Motors Links with the VW group. Even sold in Switzerland.

The wiki about this car. Wiki calls this the Sehol E10X.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sehol_E10X

fun fact: Sehol was born as SOL, Spanish for Sun, and it was gonna be the JAC-VW joint venture brand

Why Spanish? Because they wanted to badge their first car as a SEAT for China (in one of many attempts of dumping SEAT from VAG) so they got SEAT to restyle a JAC

Gordon.

A car made by the football pools company Vernons .

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_(1954–1958)

Gordon the three wheeler

It's a development of the Vernon invalid carriage, which also featured the outboard engine which presumably seemed like a good idea at the time... Love that photo at Lewes station.

which itself owes its existence to the The Invacar (as in the originial Invacar!) which is the genesis of everything! Yes Invariably inevitably Invacar!

as Vernon Industries started out by building Invacars under licence from Invacar Ltd, when Invacar got swamped by orders from the Ministry

they licensed out the design to Vernon Industry Limited (note Vernon's non standard use of a BSA engine rather then usual Villiers engine)

and Samuel Elliot Ltd

who both produced the original Invacar under licence

with the introduction of the Invacar Mk8 however, Invacar ended their licensing agreements with Vernon and Samuel Elliot

this forced both companies to produce their own designs to retain their lucrative government sales,

resulting in the above Vernon Invalid Car, which owes a lot of its design to the Invacar hence the side mounted outboard engine like an Original Invacar!

and also the Samual Elliot Padwin (which never entered serial production)

Sadly no Vernon Invalid cars are known to still survive

Another to add to the list of Austin counties cars I'm only recently finding out about is the Dorset, basically a factory two door Devon.  Seem to be more popular in Australia, though still not exactly plentiful.

Ironically, a Devon (Exeter) registration...!

There’s nothing quite like a Darmont. Well, that’s not quite true, because Darmonts were essentially the same as Morgans, being exported to France and marketed under the Darmont name.

That's a stunning machine, I love seeing the motors that come up in this thread.

A mate of mine said he had been offered a 2010 Cadillac BLS Sport Wagon as a direct swap for his Granada, cue me thinking what the fuck is a Cadillac BLS. Google has the answer, slightly* less beautiful than some of the other cars in this thread sadly:

Apparently it's built on Saab underpinnings. I think I'd prefer the Granada!

I knew what it was as I had the 1967 Observers Book of Automobiles as a kid

Just had a look and it shows the Spider

In my head it also had one of the peculiar pen and ink drawings of it, but that may have been a diffent book I no longer have.

Incidently (sorry for off topic) the book still has the sticker from where my parents bought it

Who lives in Herne Bay? Is it @egg?

The four door Devon was always more popular with customers. The two door Dorset was popular with hot rodders in the 1970s. I remember one  in a magazine at the time, with a big V8 which had the reg ROD 401 arranged ROD 40! It looks like it still exists and is on SORN.
