There's a bit of history here

Stories of road transport in Catalonia: La Siata del senyor Felipe de Barcelona. (historiatransportcat.blogspot.com)

Quote

The popular small Siata vans were manufactured in Tarragona by the company SIATA ESPAÑOLA SA, owned by the Italian eponymous company. SIATA ESPAÑOLA SA was founded in 1960 in Barcelona for the manufacture and transformation of vehicles, mainly on the basis of the Seat 600. The most famous vehicle was the Siata Minivan. Two versions were manufactured: the 2850 and the 3000 Special.

In 1973 SIATA ESPAÑOLA SA was acquired by the company MOTOR IBÉRICA SA, manufacturer of trucks, vans and tractors EBRO. As a result of this purchase, the registered Siatas were marketed under the trade name of EBRO. Some Siatas were even sold under the Avia brand, also owned by MOTOR IBÉRICA SA.

One of their more interesting vehicles is the Siata Patricia

And another Siata, the Tarraco

Magazine – blog of classic cars and motorcycles: SIATA Tarraco, the predecessor of the new SEAT (foto90classic.blogspot.com)

Quote

These days the choice of the name of the latest model to be manufactured by SEAT has been in the news. The name chosen for the new SUV, by popular vote has been that of Tarraco, with a 35% of the votes received. It was the first time that the name of a model was chosen. thus, among the five finalist names. But it is the case that Tarraco is not the first time it has been used for a model of vehicle, because 57 years ago, SIATA, coincidentally a factory in Tarragona linked commercially with SEAT, it also launched a four-seater coupe tourism, the SIATA Tarraco.

...

Given that little by little the automotive market expanded the offer and variety of Vehicles at competitive prices such as the Simca 1000, Seat 850 or Renault 8. In 1967, those responsible for the factory considered stopping manufacturing the Coupe Tarraco, since its continuity did not make sense. At the end of his trajectory, SIATA had manufactured a total of 598 cars of this model, 475 units were of the version with a 750 cc engine and 123 units, which they mounted the 850 cc engine.

Both Nissan and Renault have sold their stakes in the company for a nominal amount with a buy back clause, so my guess would be that the Aleko maybe on the cards.

Alas, there will be no 21st century resurrected  Aleko...

Lada Tarzan:

09-03.webp

For some reason, Lada decided to put a Samara body on a Niva chassis to create a sort of car bodied, road going monster truck. The off road abilities would have been prodigious, but the on-road manners lacking, one assumes.

Even then it’s a bit limited. Pair of football boots and kit?, roller skates? Tennis racquet ? OK.

Golf clubs , no, bike, no, skis, no, fishing rods,no, surfboard , no….

Maybe the weekly shop but only if you live alone!

I'm 100% certain you'd live alone if you were driving that thing.

You could see the rear axle beneath the silver under tray.

Never knew they did a 4x4 swift in this shape.

Yea there's one round here.

Didn't know either they did a 4wd until I drove behind it, seen the rear half shafts doing their thing.

Presume it was a panda 4x4 rival at the time.

Before Ford started lopping the roof off Fox body Mustangs (literally) in '83, you could get a "Carriage Roof" that just looked like a convertible

I say literally as apparently that's exactly what they did - built as saloons, then Ford cut the roofs off and shipped them to a specialist who returned them as convertibles for final inspection

I've driven one of the 4x4 ones, bland but still neat to see a toaty 4x4 one.

These faux-convertibles were all the rage in the US back in the 1980s.  On many cars, you could even get your fake convertible with a sunroof, which went some way towards spoiling the impression that you had a convertible!
