Cars you didn't know existed until very recently.

I have seen this driving around a bit and today spotted it parked as I went for a walk to the beach.Total Car Check didn't know what model this was, just that it's a Toyota (and the MOT is expired!), however a Google of what looks like a home made badge "Will Cypha" turns up a Japanese import.

No so much a car I didn't know existed, but one I didn't think was ever sold in the UK - the Subaru Tribeca.

Happened to notice one behind me in traffic this morning, standard rhd on local plates from 2006.

I'd thought these were US-only cars but clearly not (Australian and Dutch examples appearing on the Wiki page); I'm certainly not aware of having seen another, though.

There is one on my old delivery. That's an 06 reg too, so maybe they sold it for a very short time before cutting their losses. It's not a looker is it?

Yeah, officially sold in UK. Sold about 5 though!

Last saw one about a year ago for airbag recall.

Big heavy thirsty lumbering Autohippo!

Only sold as a petrol 3.0 flat 6, very thirsty but without performance to justify it.  No diesel option. Used to see one round my way regularly but not recently. Probably succumbed to rust .

They did do a facelift of the Tribeca with the 3. 6 flat 6.  It looks better which isn't hard. 12 sold in the uk.

Never seen one of them and I’ve been going to a Subaru dealership for 18 years. Looks like it was made for the US market. They like Subarus there because they are actually considered to “give good gas miles”.

Yeah I saw one of these this morning and noted how unusual it was.

The Will brand is pretty interesting. It was an attempt at creating a brand that catered specifically to the youths. A lot like what Toyota would later did with Scion or GM with Saturn.

Except, this wasn't a brand started by Toyota, but a host of Japanese conglomerates. Panasonic was a participant with a massive array of electronic products, along with Asahi making Will beers, Glico making Will snacks, etc. one participant was a tour company name "Kinki".

The Will Cypha isn't the only one Toyota made either. There was also the Will VS which basically was a weird Auris, and another Yaris-based Will Vi with it's absolutely bonkers styling, even more so than the Cypha.

All of this ended in 2005 to the surprise of absolutely no one.

Seat Panda-based Emelba Elba. The one and only five door version of the Seat Panda that was ever produced.

Posted that the other day - but there seem to be two different shapes of rear door

1998 Renault Megane Classic 1.6 RT | Currently SORN. | Alan Gold | Flickr

One of these was parked in my road the other day; not seen it before so don't think it belongs to a neighbour.  It's gone now.  Was badged as a Megane Classic, which is presumably French for Orion.

Yes, they were sold alongside the hatchback and the coupe. And of course the scenic. To be fair, a Mark 1 Mégane is a rare sight these days
