Bfg
" Bensport La Sarthe, aluminium fast back coupe. Based on a totally rebuilt Bentley R-Type chassis, clad with an exquisite and unique body, this car is entirely hand made in England. The totally new coach work is built by Bensport to their own concept, whilst retaining the spirit of the 1950s. The elegant hand wheeled panels are created by time served craftsman following in the traditions of the famous English coachbuilders. The chassis although totally rebuilt to the minutest detail, is little altered from its original design, whilst incorporating mild modifications to the cooling and exhaust systems and benefitting from power steering and a high ratio back axle. Efficient air conditioning adds to the superb driver experience. The car is available with manual or automatic transmission, and in right or left control. Due to the complexity of its construction, this car is built in extremely small numbers, each car unique with full customer input into choice of colour and trim. The next production car will be available in the next six months. Alongside the traditional petrol fuelled cars, and with the protection of the environment in mind, Bensport are to offer a fully carbon zero edition of La Sarthe, incorporating a 250 BHP motor, giving outstanding performance with a range of around 250 miles. Please contact us for further information and about commissions for La Sarthe." other photos < here > bunglebus and LightBulbFun

tul66
I've got one. Bought it as a winter hack a couple of years ago & kept it as it does everything I need it to. The only thing maybe is that it's a bit small. Well impressed. 1duck

Yoss
@11001010 has just posted this on the ebay tat thread. It's a Sovam. Based on a Renault 4, I thought it was a bit like a French Mini Marcos but I've decided it's better as although it only has an 850 to 1300cc engine they've moved it back behind the front axle. Nice minimalist interior. And I've just decided 3 stud alloy wheels are cool. I'd have one. catsinthewelder, anonymous user, LightBulbFun and 6 others

All Renault 4, 5 and 6 were the same (thankfully, given the rate at which my R5 went through driveshafts and starter motors). My first car was a 1979 Renault 5 and remains my only mid-engined car (although my wife has had an OMGHGFMGTF fort a few years now) Yoss
NorfolkNWeigh
As was the 16, but not the 12 which put a cast iron lump in front of the gearbox, the 15 and 17 were based on the 12 but in higher end models used the alloy 16 engine in front of the gearbox. Confused? Good , so am I. Let’s not even think about the 21 and it’s 1.7 transverse set up and 2.0 longitudinal models which means you could tell what size engine a 21 had by the gap between wheel arch and door.
