Austat
I wasn't aware that there were so many takes on the Renault 5 Cabriolet, a lot of these companies like Sovra made some interesting kit cars and buggies... - There's the R5 Cacharelle: - The Sovra LM4: (Sovra also did a Peuegot 104 cabriolet called the LM5) - The R5 Cleveland Convertible: - The Marcadier Bamby: - But my personal favourite has to be the Marcadier Savane, as it looks like such a bodged job. The two Macardier conversions look similar, but I believe the Savane may have a detachable front windshield, whilst the Bamby still has the original A pilars: egg, bunglebus, Aston Martin and 2 others
cort1977
That's reminded me of the convertible R5s that were made in Belguim, seem to remember reading about them in Autocar and motor in the early 90s Sudsprint, Aston Martin and egg

Austat
I've gone down one of many allcarindex.com rabbit holes, & discovered a small design group called Mahieux. My favourite has to be the CF3 due to it's unique use of Peugeot 604 headlamps! It seems that they played around with the design for a bit... Marcadier, the same company who designed the "Savane" and "Bamby", has an interesting history with their other cars, as they are known for building France's first sportscar in 1963 (according to ClassicDriver.com, that statement is questionable). One of the sports cars they made was the "Barzoi" which was introduced in the mid-60's. The styling reminds me a lot of the Australian built Bolwell Nagari, has anyone heard of it? Aston Martin
As you may or may not know, this is the latest Copen. However, they also made the Copen Cero, which they made to look like the proper Copen. egg, face, jumpingjehovahs and 1 other

It's actually not a bad replica considering the unlikely donor vehicle and the Sherpa is so crude it apparently gives a good approximation of 1920s ride and handling! It has a Vanden Plas 4-litre engine but I suppose you could build one with an XUD and run it on veg for lols.
