Not in France, but still in holiday mood, so to Severn Valley Railway.

Why don't they still make these?post-17481-0-81823200-1505648115_thumb.jpg

Very base and very beige.post-17481-0-15449100-1505648132_thumb.jpg

Completely matt paint. Utterly shine free but very clean.post-17481-0-77931900-1505648147_thumb.jpg

Not even an "L" badge, 4 speed so presumably a 1300.

Been in Dorset in the sun, lots of landrovers and Jeeps without a roof, endless '70s VW vans and these :

  • Asimo changed the title to Shite in the Pyrenees (mostly)

After too long, back in France.

Citroens. Fade to gray: it used to be black (see posts above)

IMG_9106.thumb.JPG.728a17889f8b531090cfb7e22abf4915.JPG

Still a common sight

Several Xantias about but I didn't see any other hydraulic Citroens. Early 650 Visa.

AX not common anymore, but they are all as battered as this one.

Still very plentiful, at the core of the rural economy.

Weird van version

Amazing to think 205s have been around for 40 years.

309s are perhaps even more common. Petrol and XUD power.

I borrowed this for the week, a Peugeot 2008. I was grateful for the loan, but what a horrible little car. 0 / 10 for effort Peugeot.

Not many Renault pictures. I saw plenty of R4s, but only one got papped.

No pics of Express vans either although they are plentiful as ar the old Master vans. Traders love their Trafics

A8 was a manual Diesel. Presumably the 5 cylinder engine as it was still in use. Not a single straight panel.

There were plenty that escaped my photography:  a Renault 5 semi-convertible (rag top behind the B pillar), a Fiat Chroma TD (steel wheels, cloth seats, immaculate),  Peugeot 504 coupe, many Mk1 Pandas...

  • Asimo changed the title to Holiday spots

Another year, another week away, another country: Scotland / Arnold Clark land.

This years thing seems to be European tough-boy campers. 4wd Sprinters, massively extended G-Wagens, morbidly over-bodied Hilux.

And this pair. A long way from home at Hadrian's wall.

IMG_9398.thumb.JPG.c7eb144cd51f91464dde59db8527e336.JPG

IMG_9397.thumb.JPG.a4ac0892a9076aa0ef531f53a4817bce.JPG

Never before encountered one of these.

IMG_9413.thumb.JPG.dd28a1dd019d1d88e094cb21a547ac52.JPG

IMG_9415.thumb.JPG.f6176f911553276583810bd9bfc120b6.JPG

Or one of these. My wife was very quick to tell me she didn't like it's looks as much as the Alpine I once had.  I suspect that was a pre-emptive comment, in case I fancied getting one.

IMG_9417.thumb.JPG.8769315fc8d0bf578d2f94be1c7fd8f7.JPG

This rechargeable had made it to Oban.

IMG_9459.thumb.JPG.51e202f97e20abc157aaf81fad6bb936.JPG

This must have been the full-strength version: made a sound like a Nascar racer, possibly the yellowest yellow car I've ever seen.

IMG_9464.thumb.JPG.c83679f360fa8b14f1077e3e637dfc86.JPG

And that was it for a whole week, very dissappointing! The only "one that got away" was a Bedford CA camper, labouring up an A road hill, driver living the deam and waving everyone past, sliding doors wide open.
