Adrian_pt
Rural France is magnificent for tat - though its big Northern cities are dreadful and bland. I particularly like the fact that you can tell when the cars last changed ownership off the plates - great to see proper long-term ownership is still a thing. Asimo
Not all the of the shite in France is home made. And again to prove it's a runner. **The Corsa also has non-matching wheels. Jim Bell and Sigmund Fraud

Asimo
Not in France, but still in holiday mood, so to Severn Valley Railway. Why don't they still make these? Very base and very beige.Completely matt paint. Utterly shine free but very clean. Not even an "L" badge, 4 speed so presumably a 1300. mk2_craig
Great thread! Your pictures paint a great image of France that wasn't mirrored by my visit to Dinan last month.

Asimo
Been in Dorset in the sun, lots of landrovers and Jeeps without a roof, endless '70s VW vans and these : The 205 had "Inca" badges. Triking. Not Moto Guzzi powered 😕. And there was this, nearer home a few weeks ago The best colour for an Insight: "Electric cystitis green" LightBulbFun, crad and Jim Bell
Asimo
After too long, back in France. Citroens. Fade to gray: it used to be black (see posts above) Still a common sight Several Xantias about but I didn't see any other hydraulic Citroens. Early 650 Visa. AX not common anymore, but they are all as battered as this one. Still very plentiful, at the core of the rural economy. bangernomics, LightBulbFun, Dyslexic Viking and 4 others
Asimo
Some Peugeots. 205s are very common. Weird van version Amazing to think 205s have been around for 40 years. 309s are perhaps even more common. Petrol and XUD power. Commercials too I borrowed this for the week, a Peugeot 2008. I was grateful for the loan, but what a horrible little car. 0 / 10 for effort Peugeot. LightBulbFun, motorpunk, RobT and 4 others
Asimo
Not many Renault pictures. I saw plenty of R4s, but only one got papped. No pics of Express vans either although they are plentiful as ar the old Master vans. Traders love their Trafics and their 21s Twingos are everywhere. This was a nice surprise And so was this 17! Asimo
Lancias Niva. XUD power? Forward control! Brexit motors A8 was a manual Diesel. Presumably the 5 cylinder engine as it was still in use. Not a single straight panel. Mercury? There were plenty that escaped my photography: a Renault 5 semi-convertible (rag top behind the B pillar), a Fiat Chroma TD (steel wheels, cloth seats, immaculate), Peugeot 504 coupe, many Mk1 Pandas... Asimo
Cheers Jim. Mehari. These have now got to be so valuable it is a surprise to see one still in use. Modern quad bike based pickups are now doing the same sort of work but with more noise and less charm. Asimo
Sounded right for a sidevalve Ford. Reversed with some skill into tiny garage from tiny street. Manual box with floor-change. Next door is a great bar / restaurant which often features quality Jazz acts. With this view of Canigou. Asimo
Another year, another week away, another country: Scotland / Arnold Clark land. This years thing seems to be European tough-boy campers. 4wd Sprinters, massively extended G-Wagens, morbidly over-bodied Hilux. And this pair. A long way from home at Hadrian's wall. Never before encountered one of these. Or one of these. My wife was very quick to tell me she didn't like it's looks as much as the Alpine I once had. I suspect that was a pre-emptive comment, in case I fancied getting one. This rechargeable had made it to Oban. This must have been the full-strength version: made a sound like a Nascar racer, possibly the yellowest yellow car I've ever seen. And that was it for a whole week, very dissappointing! The only "one that got away" was a Bedford CA camper, labouring up an A road hill, driver living the deam and waving everyone past, sliding doors wide open. mk2_craig and Dyslexic Viking
