Well that's a bit random - somebody stole half my car... eBay nob content

There's the small matter of a V5 (yeah yeah, I know that's for the keeper and not the owner, but still.... That's going to be an arse)

I'll be very surprised if there isn't a visit from the police over this, even if they can find nothing actually wrong.

Doesn't stop it being a great chain of events though!

Pull engine,

Chop shell.

Weigh as mixed metal.

I'm with skattrd, I suspect keys were collected and the seller knows it's gone.

Probably this.

I'd imagine the seller either works at, owns, or is associated with the garage and either was there or gave instructions for the car to be released.

I'm sure the cabbage man will be home soon* and can give us the full story.

I think he'll still be a while, he's got a bit of chore A-framing with a 205.

Now where was that picture "Wills first A-framing adventure"?

Found it ...

Sorry Will, I'm sure you'll get home without issue.

I once bought a greenhouse on eBay really cheap. The guy clearly didn't understand the way an auction worked because he ignored every attempt to contact him. Gather that is what happened here, it didn't make what he wanted for it. The concept that someone turned up on foot to oxy acetylene a gearbox out is laughable, are clapped out 306 gearboxes worth a bit in Rochdale?

Its a shame you couldn't track down the said MOT station and actually nick the gearbox.

Rochdale? Looking at the pic I bought it was downtown Baghdad.

Too right... in the meantime...

Earlier Will said the owner had told him he lived some distance away from where the car was, though this could well have been bullshit, as was so much else. All he did know for sure when he set off this afternoon was

  • the location of the car when the pics were taken,
  • the fact he won the auction for £62, and
  • that the guy had, as of today, accepted the PayPal payment that Will sent him a few days back.

This last point was either his green light to go for it, or a red rag to a bull...

But it does mean he owns it.
