purplebargeken
If only I'd remembered to take some photos the second time I went down today. Buggeration. One side is now completely coated in a good few coats of red oxide, satin black has been applied to the edges of things to build up a thicker layer. Moar painting tomorrow morning, I will take the camera. Promise. loserone, Dan302, LightBulbFun and 1 other 2
purplebargeken
I suppose I'd better keep going with this until/if it's sold. Passenger side is now satin blacked, drivers side mostly the same but not quite. This week should see it done, then the bonnet and roof...... Can't seem to find the picture of t he completed rear end. Hmm. I have rubber matting that I can cut to size to at least cover the floor with something. Ideally I'd put in a Coverdale carpet set as they are very good indeed, but I won't. New temperature sender fitted and the temperature gauge is working happily. Just the tracking to aim for this week. Amishtat, dome, SiC and 2 others
purplebargeken
Found it. Both chrome trim finishers have been fitted to the roof and C pillar trims. Brodders, They_all_do_that_sir, LightBulbFun and 4 others

loserone
Good work Ken, the camera work is appreciated too! It's great I can finally put a voice to the name, brings threads like this (and the odd selling/not anymore/needs to go/have to fix it thread) to life. purplebargeken and LightBulbFun 1
purplebargeken
Cor, has it been so long since I updated this? Crikey. Well the deteriorating weather put paid to further painting so the bonnet is still brown and the roof is still white. The rest is black though. Overdrive is now working and a switch has been mounted to the dash, with a telltale light fitted as well. The electric fan switch and 12v socket have also been sorted. New shocks and springs fitted to the front and the car is polybushed all round. Black carpet from Coverdale has just been ordered (Chrimbo pressie). Things left to do? Basic service in the summer and change the radiator hoses I reckon, also a timing check and carb balance wouldn't go amiss, all in readiness for the Round Britain Reliability Run in October. There is a thread for this which is pinned on the main forum index, so if people want to donate then this is the way forward. purplebargeken
Right, the lock up is full of engine, subframe, engine and other shite. I can't lob this anywhere, am tired as fuck and have too much stuff going on re: house purchase, moving up north, etc, etc. The thread is self explanatory. This car has the TR7 engine, overdrive, rear diff from an 1850 Dolly. It has standard shocks at the rear with new springs fitted very recently. It has good adjustable shocks up front with uprated springs. There are MGF steelies fitted with good tyres. There are 1500FWD seats fitted as they are more adjustable/comfier. New carpet partially fitted. Sports exhaust, stainless rear box. It has been fully polybushed at the front end very recently, also poly rear bushes fitted prior to my ownership. Brand new headlights and mounting brackets fitted. Strut brace fitted. 12v supply wired in, OD switch fitted on the dash, tacho fitted as well. Is mostly satin black, needs finishing off. This is one solid car. Needs: horn wiring up. Wiring there, horns provided. I hate electrics. Carpet fitting fully. This is a good quality Coverdale carpet. Price: £2850 or HGF sorted MGF and cash my way. Might even take a swap for something of the same value Location is North London
