Joey spud
May i indulge you in some 'chod' i have spied while out in the van this week. Capri specialist in Dartford. Surrey hills. Knockholt. Mk2 Consul and i don't what the truck is. Lewisham se6. ultra rare J plated CF and its friends (all taxed i guess). Just another scruffy Mail van,but check out the grot on the sill panel.. To use a phrase that i despair seeing on the internet,''how the hell did that get thru an MOT''. Richard
My old work had a 1998 ex-Royal Mail Escort van and it failed its second MOT with holes even bigger than that in the sills. I wonder if Ford build post vans to a lower standard. brickwall

Joey spud
More stuff.. Is that a big Renault under this sheet in Dartford ? Gravesend showing its finest. This Daimler in Dartford has been parked down the side of this house for at least 13 years and there used to be a wreck of a Jag XK150 in front of it. Very clean early Robin in Maidstone, not sure what happened to its screen. And this jowett is sitting out side some flats in Chatham. And my Brat (J plate) meets a really mint one in Gillingham. inconsistant
Knockholt. Mk2 Consul and i don't what the truck is. I grew up about 100yds from that house, and since the late 70s they always had various chod in the front garden under tarps. Might even have been that stuff that's been there for 35 yrs... you know when something's that familiar that you stop noticing it? Joey spud
On a drive just opposite is a Hillman Hunter that was taken off the road years back for some work. The story goes that the owner took the engine out one weekend and during the week passing Pikeys spied it sitting there and spirited it away for scrap and the Hillman has sat there untouched ever since. Joey spud
My chod spotting monkey went into overload earlier while dropping a Corolla with a skipped timing chain off in Croydon he spied these honeys. A ''late plate madness'' Scimitar 5a (XKY403T) a Daimler Dart (501DXF) and only a flipping Allard (UI4777).No idea what the alloy bodied one is but it looked expensive anyone know ? This was in the same road too. And on the way back to my patch this was spotted in Pratts bottom. There used to be a yellow 99 converted into a pick up in same spot untill recently. mercrocker
Whoever owns the non-ferrous collection of lost British causes is a hero.....That aluminium effort looks to be an Abbott body but I can't place the chassis - could be another Allard? barrett
Yo, that's a flippin' megaspot! It's the unique Allard J2 coupe designed by Godfrey Imhof In about 1951. Body probably built in house, or by a small local coach works. It was 'restored' in the '70s but has apparently fallen on hard times again...Here is a slightly shonky snap, the only one I have to hand at the mo. I would rate this about 7895544 /10 on the spotting scale. Good work! Skizzer, Louise2cv, Joey spud and 6 others
Joey spud
From what the stricken Corolla owner told me both cars have been parked there for a few years are are owned by a elderly chap and his equally mature son owns the fibre glass numbers on the road. I am sure i read somewhere there is a link between the Dart and the Reliant Sabre along the lines of Reliant bought the design of the Darts replacement when Daimler decided not to continue with a sports car in their line up. He also said he was told the car was worth a few quid due to it having a bit of a racing history ?Looking on line it seems Coys sold UI4777 back in 1999 for £7600,maybe this was purchased to use as a doner for the other one ? I had a dig around and saw this image of an Allard coupe / Palm Beach that looks sort of similar. . Shame they are not stored under cover. mercrocker
Those things need to be saved, don't they....The Reliant Scimitar Ogle design did start life as the Daimler SX250. I think the prototype was owned by Helena Rubinstein or somebody of perfumery-note. Jag canned the idea of Daimler sports cars and Ogle flogged the design to Reliant. This SX250 was also credited with the creation of Jaguar Opalescent Gold as that was the hue the perfume bird wanted. Or something.... Joey spud
I tend to frequent sevenoaks a fair bit but had not noticed these two long abandoned relics on an equally neglected drive way of an imposing house. The Renault looked quite presentable but had had a window left down for a while and the interior had suffered. Also in sevenoaks was this combo. This Minor looked just right sitting on what looked like slightly banded steels. Skizzer
Zodiac has six side windows, Zehpyr just the four (not counting quarterlights). I have many, many WANTS for that Renault 30, brilliant spot. Joey spud

Joey spud
It may well be a ''pre owned'' Doner as the Medway towns number one industry is its many Kebab Houses, closely followed by their Eastern European manned Hand car washes on every corner or scrap of waste land. Joey spud
Looking on the Gov site the Renault has been untaxed since 91 but now has a fresh mot till april 2016 so hopefully it will be seen out and about. The Zephyr is now parked in its spot and that has only been off the road a couple of years. Someone on another forum has just sugested the Renault would make a good transaxle doner for a GT40 replica...
AlabamaShrimp
Was thinking and I can't remember the at time time I saw a Renault 30 it's been that long.
