Stanky
Exciting* update. I've been crap at spotting worthy vehicles this year, these are the rather mediocre highlights Alfa spotted in a carpark in Andover, it has been years since I last saw one of these, they are a very nice piece of design work IMHO. Onslow unloading the 'evidence' from last nights binge drinking session. Broomhandle boot prop was a highlight for me. A Cosworth according to the boot badge, papped in Aldi's carpark. It had a bit of rust on one sill but otherwise seemed to be in good condition and used as a workhorse. Are these worth mega coin or had 'Cosworth' become a trim level by this point? Or was it a regular saloon with a badge and some alloys? Moar Foards. Spotted by the local vets. chap was unloading his cats. lost points for having still-functional gas struts in the boot, unlike Onslow. Paging Egg? Early-ish LX with hubcaps (held on with cable ties) and OMG NO RUST. 108% chance its driven by a giffer who bought it with his pension lump sum in the mid 90s and is now winning the annuity bingo game. Expect him to be taken out by a Standard Life hitsquad any time now. ooof Uno Selecta in daily duties down a sweeney-esque alleyway complete with stack of cardboard boxes. Had a crooklok too for added win. Behind a gate down the same alley. They also have obscene quantities of broken lawnmowers which they refuse to sell to me. Looks like its probably past its best TBH. I saw this drifted round a wet roundabout at rush hour. To be honest it looked like an absolute riot to drive unladen. Outside the same place as the Mk1 (?) transit beavertail, another workhorse in very good condition. Honourable mention for a car papped by my wife on the basis "those weird men on your car forum would like this wouldn't they?" To be fair she's not far wrong, its a shame that some of the 'battlescars' have been added retrospectively. It moves about and seems to be used by one of the local independent TV repair places (how do these even still exist as a 'thing' in 2018?) I'll keep my eyes peeled for more chod spotting
Stanky
A few more exciting highlights from the last few months spottery. With commentary because I'm funny* Some kind of giant Yank hurse, spotted just down the road from Mutha_Stanky's house. I'm fairly sure it moves under its own power Autobianchi A110? Fiat 500 commercial? It had vast positive camber on the rear wheels, like 45 degrees to the road sort of camber. Spotted this on the way to work one morning, Unipart liveried Marina coupe with a fruity exhaust note. I've not seen it before or since, much to my disappointment. Its a visual treat! Coronavirus daily exercise spottage here. A subaru SVX. Its been local as long as I've lived here, it used to live on the estate of bungalows we lived in, now its migrated a couple of miles to the other side of the village. Another Coronavirus spottage. I think this might be as Humber Snipe? its stripped out inside, but all windows present and correct so not sure if its destined for the oval or not? I papped this honey* in 2014, its not moved since. It may well have been here since the late 90s? I saw this today, is this 600 not a late registration madness contender? I was fairly sure that the 75 had been out a year or two already by the time the V reg plate came out? its mega tidy. The polar opposite here, a Jeep Wrangler returning to nature alarmingly swiftly. I'd still quite like one of these, on paper it sounds pretty fun, 4 litre engine, quite light, 4wd, easy to maintain? I suspect the reality is they are thirsty, slow and chronically rusty everywhere? Finally, some local herbert exited the community centre carpark rather to swiftly, and rather too tightly, clipped the kerb and rolled their transit van. I arrived shortly after it happened and had a bit of a lol to myself. I think they ended up employing a local Geoff Capes type to push it back upright and then drove off before the rozzers arrived? Anyway, thanks for tuning in. Shite Ron, bunglebus, timolloyd and 5 others

Stanky
Further exciting updates. I have no idea what this is, it looks a bit Jag XK but is a 4 seater, though only 2 door. Spotted in an industrial estate in Portsmouth when picking a friend up from having his DMF cleaned. Anyone got any idea? Next up the first Rover 800 I've seen in an absolute age, at Halfords carpark. It was a 'Sterling' and was very tidy. These were all papped at the end of my road, there is a small estate of perhaps 10 small light industrial units and they have a car graveyard round the back. A lot of turgid dross, but some highlights include a sad face fiesta with chronic lacquer peel and a citroen ZX. I think this is or was an LPG specialist, it takes a particular masochist to LPG a ZX surely? The Bentley is round the front of a car repairs place and adds a distinct air of 1980s shadiness to the whole enterprise. I don't know if it moves. danthecapriman
You weren’t a million miles off with the silver/grey car, it’s a Jaguar mk8. eddyramrod, Six-cylinder and Stanky 2
Stanky
Actual OMG spottage for the first time ever. I was round the back of the nearby light industrial units earlier looking for the cat who has gone missing, there is a yard full of 00s dross that never moves and no-one knows who it belongs to. there are a few mediocre spots earlier in the thread. As I was looking high and low for the damn cat I took a bit more time than usual An Bush. but wait, whats this? I think this might be a Lancia Beta? Apologies for the pics, in amongst the rather dense budlia was an awful lot of brambles and I was only wearing a tshirt, shorts and flip-flops, so suffered quite badly for my art. Am I right? lights, grille, B-pillar, wheels and door handles suggest I could be correct but its pretty far gone. bunglebus, davocano, timolloyd and 9 others 10
timolloyd
Yes! Definitely a Beta! Stanky
Asimo
A bit of polish and it would look like this, a Beta Spider. Stanky
Stanky
So what I'm hearing is basically if I wind the windows up and tape a binbag to the back window its basically worth loads* of money and a total babe* magnet*, right? timolloyd
These don’t rust. Galvanized in production. Fresh fuel and a seat cover and you’re away! Stanky
Stanky
Bit of a thread resurrection, here is some updated snaps Round the back of an industrial unit near me, a few 90s Honda's plus a h-o-t Citroen cx 'leader' on French plates, last taxed in 2019 in France, but looking a bit unloved here. Mega tidy and mega beige Subaru brat spotted while out skateboarding What's this? It used to live under a cat piss tarp and I assumed it was a caterham, but the tarp blew away in the storm a few months ago and revealed the horrifying truth. A Dutton maybe? Rolls Royce grille, slot mag wheels, loads of fiberglass and and appallingly badly made cockpit with doors made from what might have once been a cold frame? It never moves but is glorious. Missy Charm
We will probably never know what that is without an expert or more photos! The proportions suggest it's a Cortina or Marina based MG replica kit-car in the style of the Pilgrim Bulldog. It doesn't appear to be a Bulldog, but then the rear section has a home made look about it. The car could even be something like a home made body atop a kit-car chassis, or one of the many long-gone and undocumented attempts at MG and Morgan replicas that were all the rage in the eighties and nineties. Stanky
Further evidence, not my best work, but the owners were sat in their front room so I had to work fast! The side profile of the cabin is dismal, like the designer went on strike and the work experience kid was told to finish it off but could only find an HB pencil and a ruler. On closer inspection the grille isn't from a rolls, but I'm not sure what it is from? The pop-up sunroof is a particular highlight for me! Not sure if the last pic gives anything away in terms of what the front suspension might have come from? Missy Charm

Triumph wheels, and looks Triumphy under the front. Possibly based on/ derived from a Spartan? Stanky
