Late model Holden FX I think. Like this:

*Pedant mode activated*

That’s an FJ Holden with that style of hub cap.

Yes, the FJ was the facelift. The finette (and two-tone paint) point to it being a Special rather than a Standard.

Ah the the arcane world of upscale 50's cars - better hub caps, duo-tone paint, extra chrome trinkets and a second sun visor...

These Holdens are nice looking cars - a real GM family look.

Some pictures from James Ruppert's Bangernomics book

Ironically most of the car featured didn't last that long into the 1990s, but then again one ideal of bangernomics is to treat cars as disposable.

Edit: Cheeky use of a still from Withnail & I, complete with Jaguar.

This is how a lot of Marinas looked 30 years ago.

This Prelude was used for a few pages to explain where to look for potential faults.

This tired looking Sierra was used to show what happens at an auction, I wonder how much it went for, probably not much as it didn't see it's 10th birthday.

The likes of Haynes always likes to remind you not to use bricks as impromptu axle stands.

I raised a smile for a second when I worked out that 405SBH is still MOTd and taxed. Then I realised it’s being worn by 1.9 tonnes of 2016 white Audi. ?

That's interesting it doesn't come up on Cartell or the DVLA as being a registration in use.

Then again there are some oddities, recently I found something that was only on the DVLA, as normally I check on Cartell first & almost always if a registration isn't there the DVLA doesn't have anything either.

That Escrot lived for 17 years (August 1975 - August 1992), so not too bad compared to the Sierra.

I'm trying to work out where this taken, it's possibly Goa or Pekalongan in Indonesia from a quick flick through my copy of Registration Plates of the World.

I'm assuming as the cars are RHD that it was a place that drove on the left, which rules Gibraltar out.

I've checked the registrations on all the pictures & was impress that this Escort lasted longer than average for a 1970s car, while the Sierra didn't even last a decade on the roads.

Thanks I just realised that, it's been a while since I've seen it & didn't recognise the registration.

The reg may have been a fake one (edit seems it was its original reg and car belonged to Bruce Robertson) - but as the film was made very cheaply it may have just been an old Jag they picked up. Being such a cult movie I'm sure the fate of the Jaaag is known. I expect Uncle Monty's Rolls survives.

This has a bit more about the Jaguar.

SBH is from the film Withnail & I.

Filmed in 1987, set in 1969. There's a slight goof where some Fiestas and a Mk3 Escort are visable, one of which looks like an XR2:

Haven't heard of this film before so could be a good watch during isolation.

Dutch plates  G, for the province of  Noord Holland, that includes Amsterdam thus I conclude that this may be Schiphol. Just after the war the likes of MG were available only n RHD maybe the same with Wolseleys? These are Series III 12/48 which were made until '48.

I had thought they might be Dutch plates, I guess they had to buy whatever cars were available just after the war.

You can see some M25 signs on the motorway.

Bruce Robinson’s car was actually the Aston Martin (only visible for a moment), the Jag was just an old car they bought.

It does look more like a 25 year old car than a 7 or 8 year old car. The dent on the side was done by Paul McGann when he crashed it into a bin.
