vulgalour
Last job for tonight/this morning is to provide you with some pictures I took at the Triumph club open day thing that Mikeknight took me to. GT6 on the left, Spitfire on the right, apparently. I dunno, all old cars look the same. First thing we saw upon arriving was this. I was happy, Mike said something along the lines of "Oh God, why is it so brown?" The chap that owned this also owns an Avon version in Karate/Karache Gold over Russet Brown. But that wasn't there to photograph so have another shot of the Acclaim instead. Interesting factoid about this Acclaim is that he bought it after the guy who owned it had a heartattack while underneath it changing the rear suspension and it was his neighbour that found him. Pretty sure this is the same one I saw at Waddington a year or two ago. Looks like it hasn't been washed since then either. Triumph based, but I have no idea what it is. Concept model for a new Triumph, with strong hints of the pre-war Dolomite about the grille. Sadly never got any further than this. Prototype 4 door Herald! Trumps. Bond Equipes aren't exactly commonplace, but to see one this early was a surprise. So there you go, just a little picture dump for this one. mercrocker
Didn't they go on to build that 4 door one in India? Some nice Trumps there, for sure.

Jim Bergerac
Triumph based, but I have no idea what it is. Lotus 6 replica. Possibly one of these at a guess: http://www.tigerracing.com/hs6.php
dollywobbler
Both the cars in your first pic are GT6s. They didn't do Spitfire coops innit. barefoot

Sudsprint
That Bond is just 1960s gorgeous. If it's first owner didn't wear a headscarf (male or female) I'll eat my hat.
mercrocker
^^Haha! When I was at junior school my dentist had an early Equipe like that. She wore one but only whilst in the Bond, it must have had GR8 door sealing!
MikeKnight
I love Triumphs and most of their derivatives, but I have to admit I've never been a fan of Bonds. They look good in pictures, but up close (especially with the white ones) they feel like an upside down plastic bath tub.
