RichardMoss
My father in law has recently purchased a 405 diesel turbo estate with aircon etc which he describes as being in "fantastic" condition with an engine bay that "looks like a 4 year old car". I've asked him to send me loads of pictures, which I'll post up here. Jammy bugger - I'd love that. KruJoe, Lacquer Peel and Junkman

trigger
I think the Peugeot 405 TD was probably one of the last best diesels you could buy, buy a tidy, low mileage one and it would still probably out last a new diesel car. scruff and KruJoe
George-Roper
Allways seem to be estates.
RichardMoss
I finally got him to send me some photos. He still forgot the engine bay one, though. This is the worst bit on the car and given that the beastie cost less than than 12 months tax it looks like a bargain. It's a good job he bought it - his Xsara estate TD died this morning. bub2006
Forgot how cavernous the boot is on the estates. Or is it just the pic?

HMC
Lovely! my much missed 405 GLXd turbo estate was the spit of that but on an 'N, and slightly less plush inside. (that looks like a top speccd one) Loved the long travel supple suspension that made a meal of the speedhumps and crappy road surfaces of urban Britain. Modern manufacturers take note! dollywobbler
I really need to spend some time with a 405 to see if I could live with a BX with the eccentricity engineered out of it. On the plus side, you don't panic about green puddles, and you get an entire TWO windscreen wipers. HMC
RichardMoss
I should imagine that David won't give a fart about the plate font (he certainly won't give a shit!). It's a GTX TD and the aircon works! RobT and trigger
Mr Livered
That looks very nice, not sure sure about the number plate font though. The font and the silly European flag. But apart from that - lovely jubbly.

r.welfare
Boot is bigger (or at least more usable) than the 406 estate. I had three (plus a saloon) and thought they were tops.

carlo
I refuse to believe that you've found another car, especially newer, that is better than a 405. Cavcraft
RichardMoss
It's my father in law's car, it's in North Yorkshire and (in my opinion) it's a better car than the Kia Soul diesel that will be replacing it
RichardMoss
The MOT runs to 24/4/2016 and it has a Bosch pump. The car is near Bedale, just south of Scotch Corner. Lacquer Peel
