DSdriver
image.jpgWell that's kicked a few brain cells into life. I was born in sarf lunnon, Anerley near Penge to be exact and we had the last trolley bus route in London going past our flats. I must have been on one a couple of times cos I seem to recall that they were quiet and there was a space at the front (presumably where the engine on a proper bus would have been) where people used to throw sweet wrappers and stuff. They had a long pole stored on them somewhere so that the driver could hook the overhead connection back on when it fell off. I was less than four years old at the time because I know we moved in 1956 to a posh house in West Wickham. Peter Patina

rml2345
^ That thing is proper bonkers. Does it not have a hidden wheel used for testing tyres or something? I remember it appeared in an issue of Truck & Driver or similar years ago. Peter Patina
Junkman
Correct, it is a rolling tyre test laboratory built by Michelin. It has two Small Block Chevies in the back, one for propelling the vehicle, one for driving the single central specimen tyre.Since it is 'based' on a DS Break, it doesn't need Bureaux des Mines type approval to be road legal, officially it is just a modified DS. eddyramrod and Peter Patina
