ive only just popped back on this thread and dont want to stir the pot but want to give some input, correct theres no problem with papping a picture of an old motor but when youve been having a pop at someone then theyve given a genuine offer of when your passing give them a knock and have a chin wag, then days after the other person just takes pictures and fecks off that points to something more.

i would love to have a neighbor like mr b, after 5 years my neighbor one side has (i think) accepted my hobby, i used to get noise complaints and dirty looks from them and the other side let me break a capri in her drive, shes a lovely greek lady whos more like extended family

I owned one of these up until last April - Got it rather cheap, with a similar history to Mr B's. Was just using it as track day wheels, so didn't care.

Couple of things I noted:

Likes oil if you use the VTEC

The suspension geo adjustment points seize up - Mine's was okay, as a PO had replaced the wishbones when repairing it, and polybushed / copaslipped  stuff

Very tyre sensitive - When I bought it, it was on a mix of Ling longs / Marshall Matrac / Michelin Pilot Sports

The geo was way out, and combined with the crap tyres, it was a real widowmaker.

With geo reset to factory / some decent boots, it was positively planted.

Good fun cars, and very cheap right now (sold my old one for under £3k). Enjoy!

This  is a completely normal and non-stalking post.....It may well turn out that Mr Bickle is the only Autoshiter I may knowingly have met.  Took a photo (non-stealthily) of the beige Datsun pickup at Beaulieu Autojumble a few years ago and had a brief  chat about it with the then-owner.   I sadly have forgotten the  chap concerned, I was  too busy admiring the vehicle whose image I had only ever seen in the Observers Book of  Commercial Vehicles, 1966.   Bugger, I do sound like a stalker...

I have an uncomfortable feeling about this.   If  that  was my  house up there I would be less than happy with the direction of this thread.   Much as I have enjoyed the banter and information on here this is my tipping point.   Google earth, faecesbook and general sniping mark the opposite end of the small amount of good that the internet does  for me.   I almost  forgot why it is I hate people so much....

Back on topic, all the muttering rotters said these were a bit pointless in the UK due to the fact they needed to be on high revs to get going, will be interesting to see what your wife thinks of it if she likes a bit of low down torque.

Still, if she dosen't like, it will probably make a bit of cash for you fixed up.

They did a lovely Punto cabrio in yellow ;) , I still remember the one on Bugs or whatever that show was called. The one with the bad boy out of 'Eldorado'.

P.S. Those Fregates are simply awesome, particularly the two-tone one. You're not going to La Vie en Blue are you? Sitting in one of them would be worth the £15 entry charge alone :)

None of my business of course but if you do have all those cars on the road then it must cost an absolute packet in road tax alone to keep them there (some will be tax exempt of course but they still have to be MOTd and insured to be on the road don't they?). I struggle to keep 1 car on the road, I've no idea how some of you guys do it.

Anyway good luck with the Honda, looks like it could be a cracker.

To be fair his location is in his profile. I'm not defending Impmadman though.

Spy shots are kinda dodgy but again you can see it all on Streetview so its not like its a massive secret. I'd remove the location from profile personally.

^Agreed, but whilst  all  of my personal details are indeed visible to the likes of DVLA, Council and all the credit reference agencies I would be very pissed off if somebody saw fit to parade all of it on here for no real reason other than what I consider  to be  mischief (at best)

I've had my cars "spotted" by several people over the years, including outside my house. Don't mind at all, in fact I welcome it. Good to know other people appreciate them.

However, this guy appears to have a beef with Nigel and his whole tone and demeanour is not very friendly or welcoming. I think annoying a couple of busybody neighbours is a small price to pay for having such an awesome fleet outside your front door.

Well, if someone prefers Garden Gnome Shite to Autoshite in his front garden, so be it.

Let's revert to the essence of this thread. It would be a shame to have the best yellow chod thread of EVAH locked down.

New game: Guess the location.

No, it's not Havana.

Brief update on the Honda that started this thread. .

It was repaired within a few days and immediately pressed into my wife's daily commute  (round trip 110 miles now)

Its been brilliant. Its an easy commuter, runs comfortably at or around the legal limit & returns around 30mpg.

The hardtop is light and dead easy to fit,the softtop effortless , even for her.

Its comfortable at speed & an absolute hoon to drive- when the situation presents itself.

Recommended.

I've added the 'breakdown truck' currently out front, before you ask.

Its my early 50's Renault Prairie Colorale, bought several years ago. its an absolutely useless piece of chod- but highly endearing.

Guest bangerfan101

I was forever getting complaints from naughbours about stipped out / wrecked cars in my garden , then again i use to enjoy annoying the old front bottom as he was a retired police sergent with an attitute .

fireing up the project/ shed mk4 escort dizzler van after standing a few months at 7am of a sunday did the trick well.
