Itchy orange seats.  Hot coach engine smell.  Travel sick child barf.  Benson & Hedges fog.  Rustle of synthetic fabrics.  Too strong aftershave and perfume.  Too short a stay at the seaside before heading home again.

What do you use to colour them? Water soluable pencils? (excuse the spelling)

I do, I use the Derwent stuff as they're pretty high pigment content and reliable quality compared to some of the other brands I've tried.  They're pretty versatile, I use them like traditional watercolour blocks and as regular coloured pencils and as something in between the two.

This one has turned out nicely so far.  Fancied drawing a flat front Mini, undecided on some smaller details that you'll see later.  Minis really are a remarkably simple and unfussy thing to draw.

Your work just keeps getting better and I love the Plaxton coach. As for Suggestion Friday, how about a Harvest Gold Marina? It seems to sum up the whole ethos of BL in the 70s.

Anarok time, surely an early clubman would be limeflower,applejack didn't come until the very ass end of the 70s,early 80s?..... My suggestions, scrapyard scene circa 1993, and a "gone forever" time travel type PIC,say of a street scene of the mid 70s featuring an invacar,electric milkfloat,minor GPO van etc etc

From the 15 suggestions received I have picked a 'winner' so I'm closing suggestions for this week.  You'll find out who's suggestion I favoured on Friday when I shall be reopening suggestions anew.

 

Some astonishingly good suggestions, made the task of deciding which to go with very difficult.

 

Limeflower and Applejack are interchangeably hideous, clearly someone has reshelled that Mini for OMGFREETAX or something, but got it wrong.  Minimonging.  Anyway, I'm happy people like the Mini, I enjoyed making that picture, it's the first picture I've submitted for turning into prints.
