fordperv Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Cool cheers vulg, I'll have to sort some reference pictures The capri looks cool
RoadworkUK Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Capri is awesome. They should all have come from the factory with grilles over the headlamps IMO. fordperv 1
MikeKnight Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Love the Capri. It is one of the cars I'd adore as a daily until it melted into rust vaguely the same consistency as butter.
vulgalour Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 Volvo P1800 £40 inc. P&P worldwide. On a rainy day, painted grey with some mild modifications. I love these things, they're ludicrously pretty. purplebargeken and eddyramrod 2
vulgalour Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 Ford Capri £50 inc. P&P worldwide. Sold and gone to Scotland. This scanned a little strangely, I don't think the scanner likes all of the colours in it... but it's a gold Ford Capri with brown modifications and a dystopian backdrop of 1980s Council flats so that should more than make up for it. morris_ital_lover, fordperv, michael t and 1 other 4
wackywacerwill Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I used to think I was alright at drawing stuff, cars were always a struggle for me though in the same way that drawing people was. These look great, keep at it and I hope they bring you funds to squander on old cars. eddyramrod 1
vulgalour Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 I hope so too, because now I've gone and designed myself a Capri I really want. eddyramrod and Dave_Q 2
fordperv Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Now the Capri is finished it has gone from cool to fecking amazing, well done vulgalour 1
AnthonyG Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 The bubble car one is brilliant, look forward to seeing it coloured.
vulgalour Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 A commissioned watercolour for shiter Bobthebeard of his doggage and his Porsche. The scanner really didn't like the blues and greens on this for some reason, took a while to get it looking something close to the original artwork. Other than that, I think this looks pretty good and I'm especially pleased at how well tiny window doggage turned out. Pillock, brickwall, Bobthebeard and 2 others 5
fordperv Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 How much is that doggy in the window, the one with the shiney red Porsche That looks great, keep up the good work
vulgalour Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 A diversion from the usual content with this commission from shiter fordperv in the form of this memorial sketch for their characterful doggage. Shep Shepherd, fordperv and eddyramrod 3
vulgalour Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Bubblecars £140 inc. P&POriginal is entirely watercolour and is A3 in size. oman5, fordperv, morris_ital_lover and 3 others 6
vulgalour Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 It's even better in person, the scan doesn't do it justice. I'm really pleased with this one, a rarity for me.
Sloth in a bowl Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 If you can get decent quality copies done, then I could pay 10 quid + post for a signed copy of Bubblecars. Stressfreeprint.co.uk prices suggest about 35 for 10 copies on 250g paper with semi-gloss finish.
vulgalour Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 I've got a more affordable and flexible offer of printing open to me, I've just been having some issues getting the 600dpi files sent across presumably due to my internet connection vs file size. Once I can resolve this issue I'll be making prints available of most of the work you've seen already in this thread which will be more affordable than the originals. There's also Pinders in Sheffield who do on-demand printing, though I seem to recall that while their prints are very high quality they also have a price tag to match.
Shep Shepherd Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 That's really cool. It would have been even cooler if the lady had a Mari Wilson-esque beehive hairdo eddyramrod 1
stilo_active Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Wow! Bubble car work is absolutely stunning. You have a talent. Don't think I've wanted £140 to spend so much for a while. Sadly I don't Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk vulgalour 1
fordperv Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 got my sketch from the post office depot today, me and the mrs are over the moon with it, here it is with his most favourite house collar draped over the corner of the frame. cheers angyl Shep Shepherd, michael t, mat_the_cat and 2 others 5
vulgalour Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 You're very welcome, it was a pleasure to work for you. It's not often I get to see my work framed once it's been posted off, so I appreciate the photograph you've taken. fordperv 1
vulgalour Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 My first ever drawing of a coach, a Plaxton bodied Leyland Leopard, the posh bus of my childhood and teenage years for when the "Drop In" community centre were doing daytrips and that sort of thing. Bus fanciers, if you'd be so kind, I'd appreciate your input on the correct Plaxton castle for the grille and ideas for livery that aren't predominantly white. I can't find a reference for the local coach firm that used to operate a fleet of these and my memory isn't strong enough to recall the livery beyond it being navy blue and white and possibly striped. morris_ital_lover, Ghosty, Jim Bergerac and 5 others 8
phil_lihp Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Looks good! I know nothing about buses but I remember most of our local firms running these on school trips. Here's a very 80s colour scheme. Also, slightly disturbing Leopard bus badge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Leyland_Leopard_badge.jpg
fordperv Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 thats excellent i remember many a miserable school coach trip either on one of these or a volvo coach with orange seats (im not too up on coaches so cant remember the model) as for liveries google is your friend the autoshite coach
Felly Magic Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 The Pennine coach is actually my mate Simon Turner's now, and is under restoration. He's painting it in a fictitious livery as Pennine don't want it in their scheme strangely. It's original reg is BTL485X
Partridge Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Looks good! I know nothing about buses but I remember most of our local firms running these on school trips. Here's a very 80s colour scheme. Also, slightly disturbing Leopard bus badge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Leyland_Leopard_badge.jpgThat's actually in Autoshite colours!
Sloth in a bowl Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Another Leopard, I traveled on lots of Southdown buses and coaches as a kid, but don't remember these.
vulgalour Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 Thank you, that was very useful very quickly! Allow me to introduce you to the splendour* that is Hamble's holiday excursion transport. Mr Hamble is probably from East London, it sounds a bit East London-y as a name don'it?
