michiel
Fab - weird price, why not go for the full 2.5 million? Probably priced in $ originally, to answer my own question...
Mr_Bo11ox
this god-awful retina-bustin yella capri has to be a dream car for string vest wearing 50-yo 'Onslow' types, specially seeing as its got a bodykit on to make it look even worse. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1982-FORD-CAPRI-LS-YELLOW_W0QQitemZ110332605985 JUST £3,

pogweasel
'02 is a bit on the pricey side. I have never seen one at £40k. Even being OMG TEH LAST 1 surely can't be worth that. TBH I saw the price (£15k) and though fair enough, till I saw the pics.
Mr_Bo11ox
Theres a 1800 'neue klasse' saloon underneath it for £15k as well, what a rip!Saying that, it does look the absolute camels coccyx.

Betaphile
Optimistic scam artist of the week: http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/FIA ... 91067.aspx "Rare 1989 Giorgetto Giugiaro ItalDesign-styled Croma ABARTH -Prototipo luxury Sports sedan." So rare, I bet one would find Fiat doesn't even acknowledge its existence. Fancy that. My favourite bit - apart from the bog-standard Croma interior and autobox of course - are the "5 x 6" x 14" ABARTH Fondmetal ultra-lightweight magnesium alloy competition/road wheels" which just happen to look remarkably like these: And all for just $9,950. I reckon the phone's ringing off the hook.
r.welfare
I'd wager a Croma is rare shite in Oz. Personally I'd point any prospective purchasers in the direction of "Extra Lemon" by Tony Davis; comical writeup of the Croma's fortunes in Oz in that book. Betaphile
It is rare (and not just in Oz), but the going rate is still only about a tenth of what this bloke's asking, fancy Biturbo alloys or no.

scrappylad
IIRC the other ones had actually all been registered in 1990 or thereabouts in the fear of the catalyser regulations on new cars causing problems for the guy at a later point.
Mash
Yeah, could be right. Wonder if any of those actually sold then?
Timewaster
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Austin-Mini-25-25 ... 0329830668 Starting at £15kThese were £3850 new! Thats what my dad paid for a Mayfair in 1985Plus as the mayfair was red, it didn't disolve in the rain like the silver ones.I gave him £1500 for it in 1990 as my first car with 26k and the original tyres, hooned around in it for 18 months and sold it for what i paid for it. Apparently they are now worth 10 times that?!
garycox
Is this allowed? No taxNo MOTNo V5No engineNeeds weldingI'm fairly certain its got bad rust round the rear arches and sills. Price? r.welfare
Mr_Bo11ox summed up that 242 nicely on R-R I think - rarity does not a high-value Volvo make (although Torsten may well correct me here). I can only see it appealing to minted Volvo pervs or classic rallyists meself.
seth
I think there is a market for them in the classic rally scene but I suspect they'd want something more complete. Has made me think about knocking on doors for the one local to me though!
r.welfare
Isn't the Post Historic cutoff something like 1975? I dunno. Isn't the one your way a Yank import? GR8 4 PRODUCIN 32BHP DUE 2 EMISSIONZ EQUPMIENT
seth
Yes, LHD & from the US probably going by the stickers on it. I don't know how the rally clases work but you're probably right. Won't there be some sort of later "Slighty more post historic - a bit more modern" group though?Considering what it would cost to get the on on RR up and running I dare say it would be more cost effective and less hard work to find one abroad and bring it over. Must be plenty in Sweden?

Guest
Never heard of the limited use road tax.Vehicles used solely for the purpose of agriculture, horticulture and forestry are exempt from vehicle tax; however, they still need to be taxed each year and display a ‘free’ tax disc. These vehicles can either be taxed in the ‘agricultural machine’ or ‘limited use’ tax classes. You can tax your vehicle in the ‘limited use’ tax class if it’s used solely for purposes relating to agriculture, horticulture or forestry and it’s used on public roads only in passing between different areas of land occupied by you and the distance it travels on public roads in passing between any two such areas does not exceed 1.5 kilometres
Richard
My friend's father had a Suzuki Carry years ago that was taxed as an agricultural vehicle. It wasn't free then, I think it was £75 instead of £100 for a year.
