Jim Bell
My compulsive infatuation with purchasing sub £400 motor vehicles was being held at bay with regular visits to the psychiatrist and prescription medication. But then I forgot to take one of my pills. And my click finger suffered a Grimtree twitch. Which then bore fruit. Or in this case, a vegetable. Behold! Barry (the) Shit Pea! Its a K11 Micra (obviously). Of the slightly more racey 1.3 si facelift persuasion. 77 Thousand english miles have been traversed, and it has been brutally sodomised by a bigger boy. Poorly arse + extra bits^ It came with a fully functioning spare wheel well, and a glove box for storing racsist nationalism. It does have an engine where the engine should be, which seems to function as an engine should. Though it does loose points for having the battery secured by the lace from a football boot, and a screen wash filler cap made from roller up toilet paper. The sills are have only just begun the transition from being covered in green, to being covered in brown and remain solid against even the most enthusiatic poke. However, the front crossmember seems to be past its best. Fine from above. But sadly not from below: Looks worse in real life. I couldnt get decent pics as I didnt want to lie in a puddle very much. Do any of the AS mot testers deem front crossmembers "testable" an K11s?I'd be interested to know. It also has a gaudy interior. Seems reasonable for the money paid. Unless its been Cat D'd.Can any AS member with free access to checking services be a kind soul and run the number?I would reward you with massive kharma boosts. Thats about it for now. Mot looms on Friday. Shall update if anyone is interested. Back in the yard for now little veg-er-table car. rml2345
That looks cheery as fuck! I love the faintly ridiculous colour and the fact it resembles a metallic pea. 1.3 should go quite well I'd imagine? cms206

Jim Bell
Oooooh, alloys.Fancy selling them? Yes, but the tyres are all new. And I dont think the sale value would enable me to purchase similar quality replacements.
Voltastic
always had a soft spot for the micra . talking to anyone that ran and owned one it done its job very well as a small city car .The little green pea looks like a bargain

Cavcraft
These are a little bland but still very good little cars that can shift a bit. Certainly no worse than any of their rivals really.
eddyramrod
That looks like a bit of fun! I love the colour. 1.3 should be more or less the engine I have in the Cherry, shouldn't it? You won't be disappointed with it for short-distance work.

eddyramrod
Youu could well be right, I have no idea. FIL had a 1.4 which I drove quite a bit, so if it's anything like that, you'll have a laugh. Hard to lose at these prices anyway, that's why we love our Shite isn't it! Jim Bell

londonm
These are ace really reliable well made cars that go on and on, my folks have had a couple of them. You will, however, be cut up by every sales rep knob end you see on your travels.

Mr_Bo11ox
That X-member is a fail but as joe says they are not a hideous repair, i think you can buy new cross members for a few quid
cort16
The guy I rent my garage off maintains pretty much the whole old giffer fleet of the town so he gets loads of these in and I recon I've seen 3-4 fail on the front cross member in the last couple of years. You can buy that panel, I think its about 70 quid. You can just cut the bit out, trim the repair panel and weld it in it didn't look too hard, twosmoke300
Partridge
I was shocked at how speedy they are as well. Worryingly so. Crossmember shouldn't be too much of a pain, it looked easy to sort on my car. I'll wait until you do yours first and use you as a Guinea Pig though

trigger
I'm a big fan of the K11, I was looking for one before the Acclaim but they seem to fetch silly money still, Mrs T used to have a P reg 1.3 GX and that was bloody fast, much quicker off the lights than my Escort 1.6i Zetec at the time. Jim Bell
Cheers for all the advice fellas. I've snagged a bottom crossmember pannel from eBay for £25 in lieu of the fail. Hopefully everything else will be ticket-worthy.
AndyW201
Ooo! A 1.3 Si, superb. I had an R plate Si back in '98, it was mega with a set of 15" rimz and a set of 30mm Apex springs on. Enjoy, they're good fun these little blighters.
Jim Bell
I have shown colleagues pics of the underside. The prevailing notion is that the sills are toast. I disagree. I say they have at least one mot in them without Fettling. A wager has been made. If it doesn't fail on sills, I win a free windscreen washer fluid Resevoir cap. Bring on the test. Hillarious update due Friday.
Jim Bell
Well. The battery is dead. Absolutely dead.
