Is it just me or have those nice old Dodge 50/75 series recovery vehicles survived in fairly high numbers?I regularly see a Yellow D-reg one driving past my office (the same company also uses a Scammell Crusader!) and theres also a later Renault-badged one in Airdrie, about 10 miles from me.

Can't really answer that quandary, but I would much prefer to have classic vehicles in my business fleet. Of my business dreams, running a classic restoration company would suit very well using older vehicles as an attention grabbing workhorse and mobile advert.Bring back the days of Morris Minor delivery vans with hand-painted livery!

And a not so shite M535!

This wins hands down! An E12 pre-M5 Alpina spec like that would feature in my dream garage (the one where I store my favourite example of every manufacturer) although I might have to sneak an M635CSi in black in there too! 8)

Probably the sort of thing the AA bought in reasonable numbers? Wonder if the Cummins B-series could be made to fit into one

To me they will always be synonymous with water board / electricity board vans or minibuses / community transport mobiles first & foremost. Horseboxes & recovery vehicles after that. :D

The scrapyard down my road (which was a source of endless fascination when I was younger) used one of those Dodge things until it closed a few years back - it's been sitting there for years with a mkIII Ford Capri on the back of it, the only cars they have left now. I still wonder if the Capri is saveable......

Yeah, sorry about that. I had to tidy up and delete a load of my web photos some time ago and moved over to somewhere with more space. SL, there's a few of that era Carinas floating around these parts. There's a Sunny coupe being driven by what looks like its original owner too but not been able to snap that yet.

What’s nice about that Carina is it’s an early one, which looks just that bit more awkward. I sometimes see one around here, but day-to-day decent spots are getting difficult nowadays – my lunchtime wander rarely throws notably less than two or so years ago.Hope you catch that Sunny one day!

Here's another little crop.

This Autoshite dancing girls platform appeared on a local street a few weeks ago. Has had a note in it saying it was bought for charity and had broken down. I imagine numerous calls of complaint have been made

Spotted this before but here's an action shot.

Nice relevant advert on the billboard in the background! It's this coming weekend, but we're not going this year. I've been the last 2 years, but last year was such a wash out I'm reluctant to shell out nearly 50 quid for an entrance ticket to something that has the potential be a waste of a day! I know it can always happen but it does put you off, especially when the tickets are half a ton each!

Went along to the Uxbridge Auto Show today. Always some prize pups in amongst the regular classics.

I'd normally walk past a new Mini but I suddenly realised the owner of this one was obviously a hard core PT Cruiser fan in disguise!

Plus they'd even gone to the trouble of putting a "resto" photo album under the Ripspeed chrome wiper thing detailing the progress of their stick on tat accumulation!

A couple of commercials as I know they have fans here.

This Rapier was amazing. Note in the window said 20 years through a 30 year restoration. Old dear sat in the passenger seat.

No Plate angle must have been carefully calculated.

Excellent stuff as ever Seth. I'd quite fancied coming down to this today, but obliterating my suspension has rather pissed on my chips. :(I am endeared to the Alfa and the Bumseam, which is exquisitely grotty. Great LOLz at the hideous PT, and the MINI on Halfrauds finest 'spinna trimz' is quite something. I note that this months PC states that there are just 16 FSO Polonezezezez left in a roadworthy state in the UK, which is approximately 16 too many in my book.

US-spec D-series?

Date of First Registration 01 05 2003

Year of Manufacture 1959

Cylinder Capacity (cc) 5500CC

Must pre-date the UK version then, that didn't come along till the mid-sixties
